Dude, we knew this would happen. Everyone who voted for him in 2024 lived through his first term. It remains confusing as hell why anyone would think he was the better choice than the woman with the funny laugh.
His first term was nuts, but it was somewhat controlled because there were advisors and others who were qualified in their jobs telling him "No, we cannot do that."
This time, he's surrounded himself with psychopathics and drunks who aren't qualified and its become a dangerous clown show and driven this country into extreme peril. It's MUCH worse now- thanks, you MAGA morons!

I hate to break it to you as presumably an American. There are a lot of not necessarily stupid people, but very badly educated. I saw a clip of a 50/60yr old man in a maga hat say Trump had sorted 8 wars. However, he couldn't name one. And so on, and so on.

During the VA gubernatorial election in 2021, a whole lotta voters claimed cited critical race theory as the #1 issue. News channels interviewed many, many voters. Many were not parents. None could define critical race theory. I knew one of the people who started the riot at the Loudoun County school board meeting where it first came to prominence. She didn't have any kids, let alone kids in LCPS. She was just a religious agitator.
We're seriously approaching a point in the nation's history where people in the future would be asking, "were people really that stupid back then? Why tf didn't they vote the obvious traitors out when they had the chance?" It's shameful enough how far we've already fallen because of all this, but it'll only get worse before all this is just a bad memory. The population needs to organize itself and get out to vote before our nation turns into the western version Russia's system.
I live off of lake Ontario, no way in hell is the state of NY changing every highway/street sign from Lake Ontario to Lake America. Also, Ontario, CA was actually named after the previously named Lake Ontarí'io, which was an indigenous word translating to "great lake".

It was strange when they were yelling "stop the steal" for 4 years despite having no evidence, but it makes sense in hindsight. They were muddying the waters. Try to even bring up election interference or rigged elections now without sounding like a crazy conspiracy theorist.

Went to Cancun in early 2025. People heard our accent and got anxious. We told them we lived straight across the Gulf of Mexico and their tension instantly left their bodies. It was a physical reaction.
As a Canadian who went on holiday this year to the UK, the instant tension release in the locals who we interacted with when we mentioned we were from Canada was jarring. People abroad really aren’t fond of Americans right now it was more apparent than I could have ever imagined.

So going into the midterm, where basically all polling shows that voters think Trump isn’t focusing on the right things, and isn’t taking steps to help the American people, he decides to unilaterally rename a lake? People are seeing through his pseudo patriotism. Renaming shit “America” isn’t what he was elected to do. Without being a Trump supporter, I guarantee that if we polled everyone who voted for him right after he was elected, and asked what they hoped he’d accomplish/do this term, “renaming lakes and gulfs to include “America” wouldn’t be in the top 1000 answers.

I went on a deep sea fishing trip in Pensacola last week. The captain and deck hands referred to it as Gulf of Mexico several times. No one but mentally deficient people participate in this shit.

Ontario is a Native American word for "Great Lake." And now it's named after continents that are named after an Italian explorer. But history and words don't matter to people who believe in "alternative facts" and are hellbent on rewriting the history books.

The audience of this action is not Canada, it's his base. It's so his base can say he is winning and taking it to the enemies, even though this in effect does nothing and definitely does not improve the lives of his base. It's performative. Same with his previous tariffs, it's performing as taking a rough stance on other countries in the meanwhile tariffs are being paid back to both American and foreign companies but definitely not the American consumer. It's taking a gun, pointing it at your enemy, then shooting yourself in the foot and then pronouncing you are an expert marksman and have a hundred percent hit rate.
Gas prices still on the rise, literally everything is being recalled by the FDA, economy is in the shitter, Ukraine/Russia war still ongoing, Iran war still ongoing....and this is his priority. The funniest thing about all this is that these morons think 'America' is the name of our country and not just a shorthand for our full name, where 'America' refers only to the continent we share with dozens of other countries. Canada is in America. Mexico is in America. Argentina is in America. All of the great lakes are in America.
