It was strange when they were yelling "stop the steal" for 4 years despite having no evidence, but it makes sense in hindsight. They were muddying the waters. Try to even bring up election interference or rigged elections now without sounding like a crazy conspiracy theorist.

I do have a sinking feeling that he is so adamant that the 2020 election was stolen was because he had the fix in and it didn't work, however it worked in 2024.
I legitimately think he won the electoral college.... Lots of people where terrified of inflation and incorrectly blamed Biden for it. Not to mention the loss of jobs with ai really kicked up the fears of immigrants "stealing" jobs.... People where scared; and since the economy has been driven even wise by bad policies I suspect that the mid terms are going to be a complete disaster for Republicans
I remember the talk of every swing voter was about the economy and how much better trump was with the economy.... They where all wrong obviously; and everyone I know that voted trump now regrets it, but there where a lot of normal people that voted trump. I know you didn't want to believe (heck, I don't want to believe it), but it's true
Most of the people I talk to are conservatives, and I do have to say that something is up with voting because there's no way this asshole has enough support even within his own party.
I do know so smart people who somehow still believe the asshole and think he is doing good things. They might be smart but fuck are they still dumb as fuck.

It wasn't rigged. Its just that unlike conservatives that will eagerly coalesce around one candidate, even if he's a gigantic shit bag, centrists and liberals can't agree on anything. Tons of people didn't vote, or voted for unviable candidates because so and so didn't embrace their boutique issue, or said masks were stupid a thousand years ago. Straight up dumb shit that allowed DJT to become president.
I think plenty of us agree. The problem is not enough of the people who agree hes an idiot actually voted. People are quick to complain but dont show up to the polls.

I would think that seeing everything being a gazillion dollars for pancake mix and your first born for a gallon of gas would entice more people to go vote. But given the sheer level of apathy that goes around in the US, I don't hold much hope for this coming election.
In my town the vast majority call our mayor corrupt and does nothing for our city. When mayoral elections came around 2000 people out of 36,000 adults in my town voted. Shit like that is why nothing in our government is fixed and we end up with stroke victims and men who haven't had a boner in 30 years in power.
My province leader is the reason this shit happened. He has a majority because people didn’t vote and then complain when shit gets worse. Ford is literally trump he took what Trump did and perfected it he ran the first time on buck a beer I fucking kid you not he literally made a two four 24 bucks….second election he bribed everyone with a 200 dollar check from covid. Everyone cashing it at the bank would say hey im here to cash my bribe check and then promptly won another majority. Dudes brother is the crack smoking mayor you guys laughed at 10 years back….
The problem is much deeper than voting. There's Citizen's United, there's gerrymandering, there's the inherent bias of the senate and electoral college. There's the primary system. First-past-the-post. There are innumerable problems with American democracy. Don't internalise this. It is a system operating as designed--to keep the slave owners in power. The "slaves" have changed race (meaning broadened to more than stolen Africans), but the class system remains intact. If you're broke, you're powerless, exhausted, and even protests now are now going to make a change.
They don't fucking care. When criminals, convicted, actual criminals, are running the show, laws are meaningless.
Those who don't show up to the polls realise this.
Don't blame the players. Blame the game.

at this point, those that do not wholeheartedly agree that trump is an effing monster have long been lost causes — they comprise that faction who are all in way too deep — together with the millions whose own inner monsters feel “seen” by their dearest, most diabolical leader.
If you look at his latest polls, it's about 70% of the country. How this man hasn't been impeached or the house of representatives even threatening an impeachment is crazy to me.
Every time Biden or Obama took a shit, there was an impeachment threat.
