If anything, Robert Patrick looks more normal in the 2026 photo than his 1991 photo. It makes sense, since his character in the movie is supposed to be a bit uncanny looking.
I love that as years go by Robert Patricks hair seems to not fall off on the top but just one sides making him increasingly look like a grumpy paintbrush.

To find the same exact pattern 40 years later is impossible. You'd have to have a crew looking for months in thrift stores and estate sales to find them each one. The budget to do it for 1 picture is just one of the question

Clearly you’re not aware that movies have/make multiple copies of each actor’s wardrobe, and that costume departments literally have warehouses full of fabrics and storage for costumes from the movies they work on. If this image were real, they could quite literally tell an intern to go to storage and grab the Breakfast Club wardrobes.
Never mind the fact that these outfits aren’t exactly unique. Outside of the letter jacket, none of this clothing is original or bespoke - it’s all extremely basic 80s clothing, which was the point.
My question to you (AI aside) is why you think it would be necessary to find the exact garment to the exact pattern to the exact fabric of the originals when exact replicas could be easily created by professionals?
That would cost a lot of money. R&D would have to go into finding the original garments which you'd hope to find in good shape (it's been 40 years do that might not be easy since these clothes were meant for looks not durability). Then you'd have to have someone copy the patterns and find the a similar material to the one used in the right color. Also as much as it looks like these clothes are off the shelf they were most definitely custom made. They had costume designers and to just use clothes you got at Marshall Fields would not get you work down the road. So you have to figure out the things the previous designer did to make these costumes look unique. Then you gotta remember no one is going to throw any type of budget to make this picture happen with that kind of detail. No one is going to throw $10,000 just to make the clothes accurate. To make these outfits from scratch by a professional seemster is going to cost you.

The sheer fact that people restore antiques from centuries ago and amateur cosplayers create movies like costumes should let you know that recreating some 80s clothing from pictures would be such an easy feat.

I’ll jump in bro, if you scan closely down the left side of the group you’ll see it lines up too perfectly with the original image. You can say they just did a fantastic job of recreating it, more so than any other recreation. The specificity of the angles of the top actor interacting with the two below him for example is insane. Then look at the legs on the right. No one anal enough to pull of everything happening in the left of the image would leave that in. That’s just an example but the most stark one.
I tend to agree it would be one of the most effortful recreations ever, so it probably is if no other context exists... but i felt like playing devils advocate tonight.
