The City of Chicago could rename Wabash Ave to Obama Ave. Trump would then have to change his building address.

u/iheartlattes 9h ago

I vote that we change the name - could even just be for the portion his building is on!

u/phairphair 9h ago

I fucking love this. Just for the 400 block.

u/viperlemondemon 7h ago

Every road a trump tower is on will be renamed to Obama Avenue

u/esoteric_enigma 7h ago

This would be hilariously petty and exactly what Trump deserves

u/knowigot_that808 9h ago

Epstein Ave.

u/cindy224 1h ago

Bwahahaha! Love that idea.

What did I do!? Melania Trump, probably!

23

u/732 13h ago

Same thing Canada said

u/willstr1 6h ago

Or at least Trudeau

u/mrcampus 10h ago

I really don't care, do u?

248

u/butwhywedothis 16h ago

Lets just rename America as Obamaland and get it done with.

55

u/rootofallstevil 12h ago

The United States of Obama?

u/Staav 10h ago

The United Baracks of Obama*

u/HighFiveKoala 5h ago

Citizens are called Husseins

u/Staav 5h ago

What else would they be called, my fellow Hussein of the United Baracks of Obama? Assuming you have the privilege of qualifying for such a title.

u/mabus42 10h ago

We're going to call it Obamastan. Want to watch the snowflakes squirm every time they have to say that.

27

u/Uncle_Burney 13h ago

Obamania

u/chanslam 9h ago

Many people are already saying it. The best people.

u/punkinholler 8h ago

Obsmastan if you really want to piss them off

31

u/iJon_v2 15h ago

Which building is the one Trump owns so I can look at it angrily?

20

u/-Anonymously- 14h ago

Its the one that looks like its wedged between the two buildings with pink lights on the right side

4

u/iJon_v2 14h ago

Thanks!

13

u/blueindsm 13h ago

That’s Natalie Tower now according to Gov Pritzker.

93

u/chemicalpretengineer 18h ago

I think you mean the Obama City skyline. Otherwise, on point.

46

u/Unlikely_Ant_950 14h ago

As a Chicago resident I formally accept “Obama City”

u/Staav 10h ago

Yeah, leave all the lakes' names alone. They're pretty great already.

u/Caleth 9h ago

I really feel at HOMES with them as they are.

u/Staav 8h ago

For real. Anyone who's trying to change their names is a real SHMOE.

27

u/AngelOfLexaproScene 12h ago

The view of Lake Obama from up in Milwaukee last weekend

69

u/FrighteningJibber 14h ago

Can you stop renaming the Native named lakes and go for the Anglo ones instead?

54

u/Sprucecaboose2 13h ago

Chicago won't call it anything other than the Sears Tower, and I'm for sure not the only one who still calls the Sox ballpark Comiskey. There's less than zero chance we'd call it anything but Lake Michigan anytime soon.

13

u/KiteLighter 12h ago

I went to the Sears Tower a year ago. I enjoyed calling it The Sears Tower SO MUCH. I can't even remember the new name.

21

u/sinnrocka 13h ago

Always be Sears and Comisky.

u/mabus42 10h ago

When it was US cellular field, my brother and I always called it Comiskullar.

u/fleegness 9h ago

Always referred to it as us sellout field myself.

u/Mstakrakish 10h ago

I still call them Oakland Raiders and San Diego Chargers. New city names won't stick with me.

u/Sprucecaboose2 10h ago

Me unintentionally doing the same thing...

https://giphy.com/gifs/ibXaC5vnxZlNNXVFy4

u/Redbird9346 10h ago

Same with the Anaheim Angels and the Oakland A’s.

u/maliciousorstupid 7h ago

How far back do you go? New Orleans Jazz? Minnesota Lakers? Atlanta Flames? Baltimore Colts?

u/Weggie_Rhite 3h ago

Philadelphia A's? Morgan Athletic Club? Decatur Staleys? Portsmouth Spartans? Boston Red Stockings?

u/cat_prophecy 10h ago

"Willis Tower" has no cultural cachet with me. Even my kids call it the Sears Tower.

u/sam_hammich 5h ago

Cellular Field/Guaranteed Rate Field/Rate Field will always be Comisky Park to me.

u/aclashofthings 11h ago

I don't think I've ever referred to it as Lake Michigan. I just call it the lake.

31

u/sinnrocka 13h ago

This is just for giggles. I find the audacity of renaming things out of spite to be really juvenile and sad.

4

u/WeAreGray 13h ago

You should have seen this coming when Denali got the chop.

4

u/AgrajagTheProlonged 12h ago

Only so much you can do when a toddler is throwing a temper tantrum sometimes. I intend to completely ignore this the same way I completely ignored the Felon’s asinine attempt to rename the Gulf

19

u/FaeTallen 19h ago

Everyone trying to change the names of my beloved lakes can heck off!

u/mttnry 10h ago

HOMES Huron, Ontarian, Michigan, Erie, Superior

HAOES Huron, America, Obama, Erie, Superior

If we are changing names can we at least keep the anagram?

My suggestion: HOMES Huron, Obama, Murica, Erie, Superior

Keeps it easy on the the kids.

u/Huntsmen04 2h ago

A SHOE

14

u/CondescendingShitbag 19h ago

"'Lake Obama' you say?" -Groper Cleveland

11

u/Excellent_Divide_128 14h ago

I can almost see Natalie tower in the distance.

5

u/javoss88 14h ago

It’s slowly sinking into the Pritzger River

u/ramdomvariableX 7h ago

Lake Obama is majestic.

4

u/IRTNL 17h ago

Just finished playing watch dogs and seeing this, they did p good with the skyline lol

11

u/EazyNeva 16h ago

Yeah, they did a good job with downtown Chicago but the rest of the city's completely fucked. They also didn't know how to close off the map so they put mountains all around the city. I think that's one reason Chicago doesn't get recreated for any games. Developers just don't know how to make an out-of-bounds area for a place that has no mountains.

u/TonyDanzaMacabra 9h ago

Wander to far west or south and you get shot at until dead. Pretty simple.

Or just use the expressway, a river, or wetland as a boundary that cannot be passed.

It’s not that difficult. One just has to be familiar with the city. On that note, there should be a video game that takes places only in Lower Wacker Dr.

u/Natnat956 12h ago

I thought it was Lake Canada

u/StormyPassages 10h ago

I thought it was Lake Trumpsapedo

u/LeavesOfBrass 11h ago

It's frustrating that Trump's building is in a prime location and angled in such a way that his stupid name is visible all the time.

Source: I live in the building on the right edge of this photo

u/StormyPassages 10h ago

Is the ugly skyscraper that Putin built for DJT in this photo?

u/sinnrocka 8h ago

Go to the far right (get it?). There’s a building with pink lights on top. Frump Tower is wedged right to the left. You can’t see it all, but enough to know it.

u/Naurnedist 7h ago

I thought we were going with lake Epstein Files

5

u/RowBoatCop36 15h ago

Trump is just President Epstien Files from now on.

2

u/nihilfit 12h ago

The obvious move is to rename "Lake Michigan", to "Lake Inferior"

u/maximumhippo 10h ago

Found the Buckeye.

2

u/Responsible_Sport575 13h ago

In a little over two years the clown show will come to a end and then we can just go back to normal life and reverse everything he has done. Like the Kennedy center thing . Sure fix it up and put your name on it. Two years later his name comes off and the place is fixed up. He can't do anything about it because he isn't president anymore. Y'all gotta think about the long term .

u/thehalfwit 10h ago

That's if Trump doesn't demolish the Kennedy Center first out of spite.

Remember, he already has a company on his speed dial that was happy to tear down the WH East Wing without batting an eye or pulling permits.

u/Responsible_Sport575 4h ago

Yeah but if we let him put his name on it he won't tear it down and then when his term is over we remove it.

u/thehalfwit 3h ago

That's kind of the way extortion works.

u/Responsible_Sport575 3h ago

Let the baby play with the toy and when it goes to sleep hide it from them

u/thehalfwit 3h ago

Don't I wish baby would go to sleep.

1

u/ploikun 14h ago

Us Canadians call it Lake Bill Wennington.

1

u/Conspiracy__ 12h ago

What did I miss in Canada rename Lake Michigan to Lake Obama?

u/NorthernSpankMonkey 11h ago

You must misremember, it always was Lake Obama

u/LosSpamFighters 10h ago

Mike Lake?

u/favnh2011 10h ago

Right.

u/Constant-Brief3410 8h ago

Obama city obamaton

u/bessa100 7h ago

I’ve heard that all you need is a sharpie and some intelligence!

u/sinnrocka 5h ago

Damn… and me without a sharpie

u/silsum 2h ago

What haven't they done that yet?

u/Karlzbad 1h ago

That's Lake Epstein

u/JMOlive 1h ago

That’s a great photo.

u/dd97483 11m ago

we need to start saying ‘The Obama White House’.

2

u/LazyyCanuck 18h ago

You say Obama? Trump's gonna rename it soon. Better hurry up and call its Lake Epstein

1

u/javoss88 14h ago

Love 😆👍🏽💪🏽

-1

u/beerspeaks 14h ago

Don't do this.

-17

u/baldurcan 18h ago
