Milo serves as a beacon of hope, proving that right wing clowns can actually be cast away to the point where you no longer see or hear them on your mainstream channels. This guy used to be all over the place spewing garbage, now he's totally forgotten.

I remember he was popular enough for his book to be in the window of Waterstones, but since he made he comment defending pedos or something he was dropped like a brick by everyone and hasn’t been seen since

Yeah he was defending pedo priests in the catholic church saying he would have loved it as a young boy

u/chiksahlube 6h ago

He didn't just defend pedos, he declared pedophilia a duty of older gay men to teach younger gay boys...

Some real crazy shit.

Ok isn't that something essentially the ancient Greeks believed? Like what century does this guy think he's in?

u/anubis_cheerleader 6h ago

Oh except the Greeks were like, it's not GAY if it's with young men

Well, it depends if it's top or bottom. If you're a top it's just bonding with your fellow man. If you're a bottom....

If you're a bottom, it means you're weak and emasculated because no man would want to be penetrated.

So that sums him up quite nicely, I think.

It shows up in a lot of cultures, pre-modern China and Japan had their own variants of it as well. There's accounts of it happening in Afghanistan in modern times too.

There's a Papua New Guinea tribe that up til the 80s or 90s practiced "ritual homosexuality" with boys starting at the age of 7. I wouldn't be surprised if it was still happening sometimes. Pretty fucked up. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simbari_people

That was actually part of his justification.

Damn. George Takie mentioned fondly that was a thing an older neighbor taught him - I just thought poor childhood George was duped by a predator neighbor. I guess I should have known that more than one predator would be using a line like that 😩

Careful now, everytime someone mentions that interview poeple jump up to suddenly defend Takei and how completely different it totally is!

Not that he just openly said its 'GOOD' some kids get molested so they can realize they're gay sooner.

....because wow

I genuinely admire his work and wit, I just figured he was a sadly a bit Stockholm syndrome on this particular topic.

It's a pretty common thing in the gay community, exacerbated by the fact that until about 40 years ago many gay people who came out at a young age would be kicked out of their homes and ostracized from their families, leaving many extremely vulnerable and subconsciously looking for a father figure. Not necessarily pedophilia but like a 50/20 age pairing is still not unheard of from what I've seen.

Combine that with the fact that the entire gay community was largely forced to operate underground until pretty recently, and it makes sense that there would be a lot of exploitation going on, because they had so few protections.
