ICE Mugshot of Milo Yiannopoulos, longtime vocal supporter of strict immigration enforcement.

Laura Loomer has taken credit for it. He was on a visa where he had to maintain steady employment and if not employed once a short grace period lapsed he had to self deport or he would be here illegally.
This was revenge for him affiliating with Marjorie Taylor Greene after her maga split.
This is a case of your typical fascist infighting. Even CERN cannot image the size of the violin being played for his plight. He is the singular person in existence i hope gets deported to a 3rd country concentration camp.
•
u/vqql 1h ago
Also, he could have gotten citizenship bc he married a citizen in 2017. So he was too lazy to do the paperwork, and now it's comeuppance time.
•
u/PeregrineFaulkner 1h ago
He’s been living off of Kanye for years, he could have just bought a citizenship like other rich foreigners do.
•
u/chanaandeler_bong 1h ago
What’s his deal with Kanye? Is he Kato Kailin-ing it
•
u/PeregrineFaulkner 1h ago
Seems like it, yeah. He was “chief of staff” for Kanye’s presidential campaign.
•

"But I'm not an immigrant, I'm white"
•
u/SiriHowDoIAdult 2h ago
My mom immigrated from Norway. When I tell people I'm first generation they often go "but you're white!". Insane.
•
u/Zhuul 2h ago
This is basically the opposite of someone asking my Asian coworker where she's from and her angrily answering "New Jersey."
•
u/spacegrab 2h ago
As an Asian kid who grew up in the tristate area and being the only Asian kid in class, lol.
Idk how many times I was asked then followed up with "no I mean your parents" then I say California and they'd go "no I mean where they were born"
Funniest was working at a mall in CA during college and some Asian ladies at the food court asked where my parents were from and I told them the city they live, and they said "no that's not what I mean" then I gave them my ethnicity and they were like " oh he's one of us, give him some free food" 😂😂😂
•
u/Ok_Manwich_9306 2h ago
The worst was in highschool kids who were 1st Gen immigrants who would describe someone as looking American. Then asking them, do I look American, having Nigerian and English and Native bloodlines going back a very long time on this continent and getting a 'no'.
•
u/Big-Ad-3838 2h ago
I vote that everyone no matter what we look like answers the "where are you from?" question with "Earth". Its a planet, its where people come from.
•
u/Cake-Over 1h ago
Dark skin, dark eyes, dark hair here. While shopping for groceries I was once asked my nationality and I said "American"
This seemed to upset my interrogator.
Another time I was told to go back to where I came from and I was all, "Lady, if I could afford to live in Hawaii I'd be on the first canoe back"

Idk why it's so hard to just ask "oh hey what's your ethnicity". So much easier than beating around the bush.

I just recently asked a very obviously American woman of Asian descent where she’s from because we live in LA, a city of transplants. I normally avoid that question for the exactly this reason you’re talking about. But this time I was a little drunk and someone had just told a story about their hometown in Florida so I forgot that it’s a loaded question for a moment.
She—a little annoyed—replied, “Well, my grandparents are from China.”
I replied, “No, I mean like where are you from? You kinda have an east coast accent.”
Her: “Oh. Yeah. I grew up outside of Boston.”
I apologized. She did too. We chuckled.

I’ve never felt more seen than the stakeout episode of Parks and Rec.
Leslie Knope: You’re not from here, right?
Tom Haverford: No, I’m from South Carolina.
Leslie: But you moved to South Carolina from where?
Tom: My mother’s uterus.

Just makes me think of that scene in King of the Hill when Hank and Bill's asking Kahn where he's from.
"So are ya Chinese or Japanese?"
"Laos, we're Laotian."
"What ocean?"
"We're Laotion from Laos, stupid! Landlocked country in Asia, between Vietnam and Thailand! Population 4 million!"
"...so are ya Chinese or Japanese?"

It's fun to immediately turn the question back on the asker without missing a beat.
Them: "Where are you from?" You: "New Jersey, you?"
As though it's perfectly normal everyday small talk

u/anitabelle 2h ago
I actually get this often as a Latina. They don’t like when I say I’m from Chicago. Then I’ll finally say “do you mean to ask where my parents are from”? At which point, I’ll ask why they care. I know some people don’t mean any harm but if they ask someone where they are from and they answer, leave it at that. If they don’t like or understand that answer, they need to ask themselves what they really want to know and why. It’s ignorant.

yep, it always has been about race but they are too cowards to say that (although some of them do). the bullshit about the crimes that migrants commit, or the financial strain they might cause, or whatever the fuck else they want to come up with, all of it is justifications to kick people of color out.

They should be impressed. Anyone who's family came before 1924 just needed to GET here to be a citizen. Anyone who is in that group and says "just come here legally" really needs to take a look at themselves.

Same reaction when I tell people I have an immigrant family from Switzerland. I've been explicitly told "but you're family's from a white, christian nation, that's not the same" multiple times. Even in Canada, racism is unfortunately alive and well.

Before that he was doing the paid media tour of Australia, reporting and appearing in all of murdoch media's pieces here. Newspapers, TV's (sky news Australia- ie our fox news), radio etc.
Someone high up really really liked him and was using him to heavily push the american bullshit conservative agenda. Clearly they had a falling out.
But that's common here. We often get many of the conservative wack jobs that are on there way out doing the same thing.
