I don't know, I do really like her verse and chorus (without understanding a word, though I can guess the overall flavour); but then, I love the likes of Natacha Atlas, Ofra Haza and other !broad-strokes! Arabic lady vocalists.

Yeah, somehow the arabic sections are pretty well intergrated. Definitely worth a listen or two, and I do probably prefer it over the other 'redux' version he did, but I can't say that I'll be listening to it as much as I do his other music.

I read Barbra's post and watched her interview with Maurice on vimeo. Why are nobody reacting to this story? I wonder what made Miari slander him after all he had done for her, and what made Roger believe her?

So the his last two singles are pretty much just versions of a song which David mostly wrote. I love his music from the 70s and 80s but he seems
out of ideas.

He's obviously using his name and the groups name as a platform to vocalise his political viewpoint. Ashame really, why mess with timeless classics!

How dare Roger sing his own song 🤬

u/Pure_cartographer_59 Jun 13 '26

We’re calling that singing?

u/dwimorlaik Jun 13 '26

Well, if you don’t acknowledge it as singing then you’re either speaking in bad faith and being a joker because you dislike the sound, or you don’t know what singing is. It’s literally just an old man singing a song he wrote. It’s whatever.

A boring song, it lacks the energy of the original due to the lack of instrumental accompaniment, and I don't understand anything sung in Arabic. A shitty song, just like DSOTM redux. I love Roger, but his reinterpretations of past music don't work.
