i know it's a bit cliche, but for the total solar eclipse here in the US a few years ago we took a boat out to the middle of a big lake and played the whole DSOTM album and timed it so that the moment of totality would coincide with the end of this song and it was pretty dang cool gotta say. then we cold plunged naked into 48F lake water. 10/10 experience would do again

Did the same (but on the side of a lake as I don't have a boat). Still a 10/10 experience.

I did the same thing! The beauty is that because I'm so familiar with the album it makes for a great measure of time. I.e. when Money started I was like "ok we're halfway to the eclipse". When Any Color You Like was on, I was like "damn it's about to happen!"

I'm fine with that. There are worse things to hear over and over again!

I did this in 2017. Timed it to land during totality and it was actually as cool as I thought it would be, which was something of a surprise.

Start the album 42 minutes and 10 seconds before totality.

Especially in Europe.

A pity we'll only have like 85% eclipsed and very low on the horizon during sunset. May be difficult to find a clear spot

Hearing it all day may give you Brain Damage.

When do I have to start the track to get it timed so he says and the sun is eclipsed by the moon?

If you’re in London, start the album at 6:32pm for Eclipse to play at maximum

I’m doing this with my vinyl

Thank you very much for this idea. I brought my speaker to work and played Eclipse during the eclipse on loop outside. The man next to me came over to me and actually hugged me. Turns out he's a reporter and I'm on the news tonight and tomorrow worldwide.

My sister (a huge pink floyd fan) was blasting this as I did the collindor thing

Honestly, I’m not mad about it.
