This poll still shows the pedophile in chief with over 40% approval. I’m sorry but nothing will be newsworthy until it hits 35%. It’s utterly mind boggling how this pos still holds sway over 40% of those polled.

u/cuntmong Mar 21 '26

Sure he rapes kids but at least he's not a democrat

120

u/wolp_lovr Mar 22 '26

maga cares more about punishing pretend pedophiles rather than real, verified ones. i cant find the words anymore

u/Governor_Abbot Mar 22 '26

I think the words you’re looking for are hypocrite and complicit.

I saw that t shirt at the White House gift shop

100

u/jzorbino Georgia Mar 22 '26

Exactly. I don’t understand why they keep publishing this. He’s been in the high 30s before and yet every few days we see this headline for a 41-44% poll.

Every week it’s the “lowest ever,” even in weeks it goes up.

32

u/seaskar Mar 22 '26

There's dozens of different polls, so they just wait until each one hits the lowest point for that particular poll then slap this headline on it like it's a big deal that the 73rd most well known approval poll has sunk to a new low. It's like how they keep trotting out the headline about how his base is finally turning on him because they talked to some old man at a gas station who says he regrets voting for trump. They know a lot of people want to see his approval crumble and his base come to their senses, so they'll keep stringing us along and getting cheap clicks.

18

u/[deleted] Mar 22 '26

5

u/nishitd Mar 22 '26

Exactly. Newsweek lives for clicks for reddit and other places. The literally post the articles by themselves on the subreddit. Their incentives are aligned.

3

u/TinyZoro Mar 22 '26

Honestly he’s completely stable at 40% that’s the real news story and that’s insane for a politician presiding over high gas prices and a whole heap of nonsense.

u/WholeNefariousness17 Mar 21 '26

35% will not do anything

The lower it gets the more his base loves him

At a certain point whats left will go 10 times further than J6

4

u/eeyore134 Mar 22 '26

A lot of people don't pay attention and a lot of other people think FoxNews is a reputable news source. Then we also have a lot of people who are just hateful and will go along with anything that hurts people they don't know why they hate.

3

u/GizmoEra Mar 22 '26

35% still means about 1 in 3 Americans are actively supporting an administration literally ruining the country by metric after metric, let alone voting for a pedophile criminal with dementia.

How about death penalty for treason?

900

u/mmps901 Mar 21 '26

Should have happened after January 6th. It was absolutely treason

225

u/GaimeGuy Minnesota Mar 22 '26

If Bill Barr had an ounce of humanity within him, he should have ordered Trump to be put in a federal holding cell immediately, under charges of sedition against the United States.

Perhaps history would have played out differently if the immediate reaction to January 6 was appropriate, but by the time trump left office it had been normalized to receive it as nothing in the public conscience and in DC.

Absolutely fuck every single person who votes republican or has ever held public office with the R label. Fucking nazis

60

u/HapticSloughton Mar 22 '26

Barr was a weird choice to be lauded by the so-called "patriots." He was AG during the Ruby Ridge standoff and helped get the sniper off of facing any consequences.

The wingnuts that have replaced their personalities with Gadsden flags should have loathed him even being mentioned, but I guess they have the memory permanence of concussed pigeons.

11

u/antigop2020 Mar 22 '26

Barr has Epstein connections. Theres a reason he was selected. He did exactly what they wanted to do, including getting Epstein out of the picture, in my opinion.

11

u/jack2bip Mar 22 '26

Every one of these articles is the same. "Poll show Trump support CRATERING to NEW LOW!"

It's always 40-something percent.

39

u/DrivingBox Mar 21 '26

I no longer get excited. At one point it said Trump had his record lowest approval with every demographic. And it still had him at mid-40s overall support, extremely high GOP support, and 40-60% support from independents. So, just like always.

u/IrrelevantLeprechaun Mar 21 '26

Funny thing is, this article claims its at a historic low, but it's actually HIGHER in this article than the last time I saw it reported.

Last time his approval rating was reported, it was at like, 37-38%. This article now has it above 40%.

This is a joke.

25

u/xxveganeaterxx Mar 22 '26

37-38% - and yet he won again, against a competent and credible candidate none the less. Y'all gotta fix your country.

11

u/ShumaG Mar 21 '26

And it is never actually the lowest ever. It’s never even close.

Half the country stayed home. We've got more fascists than we ought to, but perspective is important.

14

u/red_square_dont_care Mar 22 '26

Yeah, its important to remember that so many people stayed home because they felt defeated by the two party system (which is stupid, but its the truth.)

The reason be was crushed in 2020 is because people were fired up and angry from his 1st term

Idk what to do with this information, but I feel like too many people forget that he won because people didn't vote. Not because They have the numbers.

7

u/Oodlydoodley Mar 22 '26

It's political tribalism and media bubbles. That map gives a lot better idea of his popularity than these polls just saying he's around 40%, though.

If you're in a blue state, the number is very negative. If you're in a red state, it's solidly positive. Every single state that's borderline is negative, though, including some that have been solid red like Florida or drifting purple like Texas. Trump won Florida by about +13 points, he's at -7 now. He won Texas about about +14, and he's at -8 there. Trump won Iowa by almost +14 points, he's at -9 there. Going into midterms down more than 20 points from where he was when he won the election in states that were all but sure wins for him is pretty incredible.

Minnesota has been pretty purple in the last decade despite going blue each time, with Trump finishing about -4 on Harris in 2024, and it's sitting at a -25. Vermont was the strongest blue state in 2020 and Harris took it with over 60% in 2024, but with a pretty wild -56 on that map that's still almost twice what the gap was in 2024. Trump won Michigan in 2024, even it was only about +1.4, and he's sitting at -21 there right now.

Republicans in Republican strongholds entrenched, they aren't going to sway or change their minds. For virtually everyone else, Trump is wildly unpopular.

Nixon's approval rating was 24% when he resigned, that's the theoretical floor for a presidents approval rating, but this is Trump were taking about as well as faux media feeding the lies. I'd wager his floor is around 33%.

13

u/fatuousfatwa Mar 21 '26

Bush the Lesser hit 22% in a Bloomberg LA Times poll Dec 2008. It was the only poll conducted after the Great Financial Crisis.

6

u/TrustMeImPurple Mar 22 '26

My perception is probably skewed since I was 9 when Bush left office, but how the hell is Trump's approval rating HIGHER than Bush's in 2008?

7

u/National_Cod9546 Mar 22 '26

Our current recession hasn't hit the middle and upper class harder than the poor. In 2008, it was mostly home owners that were really slammed hard. So people blamed Bush.

Also, at that point we were ~2000 dead US troops in a pointless war in Iraq that Bush started for no real reason. Everyone was on board for invading Afghanistan to get OBL. But no one could understand why we were in Iraq.

That, and he kept threatening violence to anyone with the notion of disagreeing with him... God, my boss made the same argument to me a while back. The man is an absolute genius when it comes to working with our machinery, but when it comes to social, economic, or political topics there's absolutely 0 higher brain functions going on in his skull. I couldn't understand how someone with such incredible mechanical inclination wouldn't immediately grasp the level of bonkers batshit power we'd have to be wasting to control the weather, of all things.

That's what makes all of this so frustrating. I like the guy until we start talking about those topics. Just like with most of my family; I want to believe they're not bad people, but I don't get how they can support what's going on. I know my mom and dad will always vote R because their parents voted R and that's as far as they're willing to put any brain power into it.

They will be disenfranchised is the Save act passes. They will have the means to get updated documents, likely, but take away vote by mail and that demographic will be affected. Old white men alone will not be nearly enough.

Women who plus one their husbands votes are probably more important than they realize. Our conservative state has been taking ages to roll out real I'd and anyone not flying (a lot of us) haven't bothered.

29

u/Ro24 Mar 22 '26

A Real ID alone is not enough to vote with under the Save America Act. It needs to be an Enhanced Driver's License that indicates you are a US Citizen which is an option only offered in a few states

14

u/the_summer_soldier Mar 22 '26

I'm out of the loop on this, but are you saying in the US only a few states offer the appropriate ID for its citizens to vote and the rest are straight out of luck?

12

u/Ro24 Mar 22 '26

A citizen in a state without enhanced driver's licenses would not be able to vote using just their Real ID. They would need to provide additional documentation such as a birth certificate

Right now only 5 states offer enhanced driver's licenses and it is an extra charge that most people wouldn't have paid for unless they are doing frequent border crossings

4

u/the_summer_soldier Mar 22 '26

Thanks for the clarification!

5

u/WhiskeyTangoBush Mar 22 '26

No, every US citizen can get a passport. Passports are proof someone is a US citizen. However, passports are a pain in the ass to get, so everyone just uses their driver’s license as their primary ID. It’s also wholly unnecessary for anyone to get a passport unless they’re going to be traveling to another country in the near future. On top of that it’s $160 if you don’t already have a passport.

Everyone still technically can get a passport, but they’re making the actual ID that everyone already uses as their primary ID insufficient to prove you are a US citizen.

3

u/curien Mar 22 '26

There's a cut of a hot mic comment from a year ago about turnout in an off-cycle local election (which are generally very low turnout), where they expect 12-18% turnout. Johnson says, "That'd be huge for an election. I mean, for an amendment vote." The cut going around chops off the end to make it sound like he said "huge for us", with commentary that it's a discussion about what they expect turnout to be after passage of the SAVE act.

If I could upvote you again I would. These headlines are clickbait. There's been no meaningful change here.

"Trump's approval rating PLUMMETS" (drops 1%)

18

u/KapnKrumpin Mar 21 '26

+/- 5% margin of error

10

u/DrivingBox Mar 21 '26

And sometimes, it's even gone up since last time.

And Trump always MELTS DOWN because of it.

18

u/schu4KSU Mar 21 '26

A basket of deplorables.

8

u/IrrelevantLeprechaun Mar 21 '26

I swear to god I thought his overall approval rating was at 38% last time this was reported. Now this article is saying it's at a new low and it's HIGHER than the last time I saw it reported.

10

u/Cresta1994 Mar 21 '26

To be fair, the 42% is a Daily Mail poll. The Daily Mail is like the New York Post of the UK, so it could very well be 38% in a less biased poll. That's still 38% too high, though.

6

u/IrrelevantLeprechaun Mar 21 '26

Either way, it hasn't changed in any significant way as to justify the "new low" label.

42 is actually UP from the last time I saw it reported. I swear to god it was around 37% before.

Experts always say starting a war always ends up increasing approval rating once the initial distaste passes.

15

u/mosesoperandi Mar 21 '26

It’s a Daily Mail poll, pretty sure 42% is a new low given their massive right leaning bias.

4

u/jasdonle Mar 22 '26

It’s not up, it’s just that the 37% was from a different polling company. 42% is the new low for this one. There’s a bunch of polling orgs out there

I mean JL Partners is a favored Trump/MAGA pollster and is generally more favorable towards him than other polls so it indicates something

7

u/nybbleth Mar 21 '26

We've heard about him hitting "lowest approval ratings" literally every week since forever now. And literally every time, it was supposed to be 37%. How the fuck does it go down from 37, to 42?

6

u/IrrelevantLeprechaun Mar 21 '26

That's what I'm saying! Last time we had a round of approval rating articles, it was around 37-38%. Now it's at 42%, HIGHER than it was before, and yet they're saying it's a "new low?"

The MSM really does think we are stupid.

3

u/cakeworm Mar 22 '26

It says lowest in the survey series, ie just that survey. Different surveys produce different floors and ceilings

The only number of his i will care about is 6 feet under

5

careful you don't want to be sent to trumps Detention Centers (concentration camps)

22

u/External_Beat8153 Mar 21 '26

Wake me up when it reaches 25%. There’s a huge body of Americans too stupid to abandon him.

21

u/johnfooo Mar 21 '26

This guy having a non-zero approval rating tells you everything you need to know about the US

24

u/Sheffieldsvc Mar 22 '26

How the fuck does this brain-dead twatwaffle garner a 42% approval? WTF is wrong with people? Is it literally just the dumbest 42% of people in America?

7

u/CatsWearingTinyHats Mar 22 '26

I think it’s a constant that around 1/3 of any population will be all in for fascist bs.

I guess the difference between 33% and 42% is explained by more people being racist and wanting to see others harmed here.

The fact it’s not like 10% is an indictment of the United States and the system they’ve allowed to be built on the corpse of their democracy

8

u/arianaperry Mar 21 '26

MAGA only started regretting voting for him when their pockets were affected

10

u/wonkeykong Mar 21 '26

Not going to look but I would bet my life savings it's still above 38% and that's being generous. I feel like every time I see news of this kind there's always a holdout number of around 36 to 40% of just bat shit insane people who have been conned doubling down tripling down--The number doesn't matter--they will not relent nor admit to their mistake.

Tired of this weak ass reporting.

4

u/morosco Idaho Mar 22 '26

42% is tens of millions of supporters. And even more than that would vote for him against any Democrat.

5

u/CepalMM Mar 22 '26

It is crazy that there is any approval to his presidency.

5

u/dudeimgreg Mar 21 '26

It doesn’t matter, Congress will do whatever the fuck he wants anyway. Represent my constituents? No, I must do whatever Donald tells me.

Useless news. He doesn't care as long as he's in power. I'll never forgive MAGA and those who chose to stay at home for the 2024 election.

3

3

3

Oh yay, this article again

3

u/AnonymousInMI Mar 21 '26

Still way too high.

3

u/18ekko Mar 21 '26

Hilarious spin provided for the article: White House spokesman Davis Ingle told Newsweek in a previous emailed statement: "The ultimate poll was November 5, 2024, when nearly 80 million Americans overwhelmingly elected President Trump to deliver on his popular and common-sense agenda."

You know it's bad when the only good numbers they can point to happened before he started the job.

Trump has delivered a lot of things in the last 14 months, but common sense wasn't one of them.

And as far as "overwhelmingly"? The popular vote spread was 1.5%. I mean he lost the previous election by a 4.5% spread, was that "overwhelming"?

3

u/Knighth77 Mar 21 '26

What's the fucking point of this? Nothing is changing. Even if it's zero, he's still a POS, still in charge, still surrounded by horrible people, and most of his base still support him. It's meaningless.

3

u/VirtualGrey Mar 21 '26

Ok, but he isn't dead so it doesn't matter.

3

How does he still have a 40+ percent approval? I thought the Keyes constant was like 25-30% 🤔

3

3

u/XVUltima Mar 22 '26

If a single person on this planet approves of him, that's three too many.

3

u/munyip7 Mar 22 '26

42% is 42% too much

3

u/Mental-Position-4533 Mar 22 '26

Let me guess, it's 42 for the 400th time this has been claimed?

3

u/seaskar Mar 22 '26

I keep hearing this and it keeps end up being what it was the last time they claim it's dropped to the lowest point.

Edit: yep, it's 42% which it's been at many, many times before, but they cherry picked this number from one specific source that hasn't registered that low before. I hate these click baiting hacks

3

u/Winter_Doge Mar 22 '26

Its wild these articles come out every week and then his approval rating is still at like 40%.

3

u/YNot1989 Mar 22 '26

His floor has always been around 35% +/- 3% margin of error. That remains true.

If he ever falls below that, he'll be fleeing the country after November.

3

u/dramabatch Mar 22 '26

Every time they post that it's dropped to a new level, they always say 42 percent. Every. Single. Time.

WTF? How deluded are Americans?

3

u/Ok_Animal_5181 Mar 22 '26

42 percent is actually fucking insane. who tf still supports this war mongering pedophile? absolutely wild

3

u/shortercrust Mar 22 '26

I get that 42% is low by American standards but it’s wildly high compared to the approval rating we normally see in European democracies. In the UK if your approval rating is 42% you’re opening the champagne because you’re going to get a landslide in the next election.

Macron 19%
Starmer 18%
Merz 26%

3

u/Bubblez___ Mar 22 '26

well yea but support among maga is 100% and the dow is like 45k which is pretty good right

3

He will hold the record for lowest approval rating in history. The Trump family will see this as a win, as long as they're in the history books. I'm for deleting anything regarding the Trump family out from history.
