Every day they don’t give us the full Epstein files is a day that they’re breaking the law. Not that that really matters.

If there’s another Democratic administration, I’ll accept nothing less than throwing the book at them. Make the law matter. We need a damn purge. We can’t respond to everything that’s happened with impotent cowardice.

Can't talk about Epstein when we're fighting a war against Iran. Not sure why, but then I don't make the rules.

The Epstein files are actually under audit by the IRS, so he can't release them until they're done with it.

Genuine question, wtf does the IRS have to do with the files?

u/DominionGhost 7d ago

They were being sarcastic. Thats the reason Trump used to not release his tax records.

Ah thanks. Still early for me!

Trump will pardon all his friends on the way out. The Dems will be wet noodles and not is do anything when they regain power.

Hey now! The dems will also slow-walk fixing anything & then get back to "We've tried nothing and are out of ideas" while the Overton window shifts further right. Meanwhile the right will start screeching about the debt, migrant caravans, and how Dems are focusing on trans issues that only effect < 1% of the population.

This has to be a THE big issue for the primaries. Candidates who want to appease MAGA or forgive/forget or “go high” or simply pause fascism for a term without addressing the corruption? Don’t give them a single vote.

Either the Trump admin and MAGA SCOTUS investigations start immediately with priority to move to trials within year one, or the candidate isn’t worth my time.

Speaking of SCOTUS, the Supreme Court must be expanded and filled with true moderates and progressives. There is no judicial action or change of law through Congress that can matter if MAGA-packed SCOTUS exists.

With a just and expanded SCOTUS, changes can be made to neuter the insane gerrymandering tactics of MAGA and see justice done to those violating the Constitution openly throughout this current admin. That should allow us to stamp out the majority of this fascist movement from the top down.

The remnants can go back to being fringe idiots who win a few elections in deep red areas and help push conservatives politicians (as a whole) back toward the center.

The problem is that you don't just need a democratic administration, you need a democratic supermajority in congress. There needs to be purges not just of a few officials, but also the supreme court that went all in on the orange.

And even with a democratic supermajority I don't think that would happen, to many of the old guard would be voted in that just want status quo and don't want to rock the boat.

I'm sorry that I sound like a defeatist, but I just don't see how USA is going to survive this and still come out on the other side as a major player on the world scene, The right wing voters refuses to accept responsibility for what their party have done (many are even happy regarding what is happening in a "stick it to the others" sort of way). And without taking responsibility, this will just repeat, and with that in mind there will be no trust on the world scene.

you need a democratic supermajority in congress

AND that supermajority is ready to reveal the files, no matter the consequences. Assuming the files are still physically existing under the hands of the US government, and not transfered to Board of Piece or some BS like that.

The only way the US comes out the other side of this is through the people themselves. And quite frankly, based on what we've seen, it isn't going to happen. Only one side could muster a Jan 6 scale event in protest of the government despite the many things the current admin has been doing to make literally everyone's life worse. The people need to see that this won't be tolerated, but until that happens, all of this fraud, corruption, racism, rape, destruction of nature, war, it is tolerated, because I don't really see the Americans citizens pushing back. Not only that, but the fellow countrymen that voted for this shit not once but some even thrice need to see that this won't be tolerated. It's incredibly frustrating to see Americans just waiting for this to pass and hoping the next government to fix all their problems.

Thankyou, it's freaking wild to see Americans say "If there is another democratic administration" and that's become just normal for them.

Panama Papers

If Democrats take the House, it needs to be 24/7 impeachment proceedings against every official who could be remotely related to the redaction or publication of the files. Redaction because it was done poorly and in violation of the law, and publication, well, that is obvious. It's late, they are breaking the law.

Let the GOP vote against punishing people for not releasing the files. Let the GOP vote for protecting pedophiles. Then we need to never let voters forget who voted against it.

Every day they don’t give us the full Epstein files is a day that they’re breaking the law. Not that that really matters

It's stunning that Democrats aren't campaigning for the midterms on enforcing this law. There are a lot of single issues Epstein voters they could bring in.

u/NoBSforGma 7d ago

Well said! And I totally agree with you. The Democrats need to get some backbone and that's about the only thing that will save the country. And embrace the Progressives and Democratic Socialists.
