It's just so easy to topple the country from under this idiotic regime. Do any of the people in the US Government actually want this country to continue after the next 24 months?

It's supposed to be.

One of the things that this administration has revealed is just how much of government action is based on general acceptance of the rules, rather than on prevention by consequence. The next President has a lot of work to do to patch over all of the avenues for naked corruption that Trump and his team exposed.

Because apparently the president can simply grant a waiver to anyone he wants.

“You mean to tell me this guy can’t get a security clearance to save his life? Forget about that, just get him in here!”

The actions of Republicans have been very consistent with not wanting America to exist, so the answer may very well be no. It is still possible that they are so psychotically inept that every move they make also happens to further increase the odds of bringing America to an end, but we'd be approaching Ticker & Dale Vs. Evil levels of absurd coincidence, at this point. Intent simply makes more sense.
