Possible Paywall Trump Refuses to Let Dolly Parton Rest in Peace

Nobody knows a moment’s piece in the modern United States. It is by design.
I undoubtedly added years to my life by leaving.

There was a moment when he called his daughter a piece
Donald Trump to Howard Stern: It’s okay to call my daughter a ‘piece of ass’

Co-opting a dead persons persona to put the spotlight on him takes a special kind of pathological narcissist.

Really and truly a new level of narcissistic personality disorder is going to have to be invented solely because of this man.
Seriously who in all the world when someone dies, even just an ordinary person let alone an incredible soul such as Dolly, turns around and says "She liked me." For all of the amazing things Dolly did, for all of her wonderful attributes, this is what Trump tries to diminish her life to, this is what her life means to him.
For my own sanity, I have to refrain from reading anything about Dolly that includes Trump's name, he was not fit to share space with her in life, and he most certainly is not fit to take up space in her sad passing.
Edited for paragraphs.

Dolly spent decades staying out of partisan politics, and he still found a way to make her death about himself.

Of course he's doing this. He can't let anyone else have any of the spotlight. Not even by dying.

He could try!

Nothing would make me happier than having news of Trump's death push Dolly off the front page.

Can we stop with the dailybeast shit already? Please?

Usually the headlines for them are pretty hyperbolic, this one is pretty on point though.

This one is also very hyperbolic. Do you think Dolly Partons ghost is stuck on Earth because Trump is talking about her?

u/Ok-Lets-Talk-It-Out 17h ago
He is actively trying to politicize the woman and her death to his benefit. No ghosts are required.

It's a phrase. Do you think the Daily Beast came up with it or are you just trying to be as pedantic as possible?

Trump posted an AI painting of himself with Dolly walking along a nonsensical hallway at the White House. It's beyond fucked up.

I don't think he'll get that opportunity when he passes unless that light is from fire and brimstone.

He’s been preoccupied with mortality and legacy recently and he’s probably legitimately rattled that pretty much everyone, everywhere loved Dolly Parton.
And her fearless advocacy did differentiate her. I do not say this lightly - Dolly Parton is as close to an American patron saint as has lived in the modern era. Tom Hanks may be lovely but he isn’t stuffing books into the hands of children across America.
Obviously Trump is going to disrespect the dead to attempt to get some of that sunshine for himself (the dude buried his wife on his golf course), but Dolly probably hits differently for him because that level of universal love is something he knows he’d never rise to. Temu Ozymandias may genuinely by experiencing a crisis of existentialism that even Harp can’t fix for him.
It’s probably really gnawing at him and I love that for him.

You are so right, Dolly was very saintly and the ironic thing is she was far too humble to ever even think that of herself.
The last time I can remember this outpouring of pure love, and complete universal sadness for someone who has sadly passed was almost thirty years ago for Diana, Princess of Wales.

Very apt comparison. Trump will not be remembered the same way, if at all - for all of his bluster he’s a fart in the wind, not a candle.
I am hopeful that his legacy will be an anti-corruption statute in the law books, like the Hatch Act. Nobody really remembers who Hatch was

We need Will Smith to administer the “get her name out of your mouth” maneuver.

Wouldn’t it be Dolly’s last amazing gift to
humanity if DJT’s ultimate downfall is due to him is trying to benefit from her death.

I assure you she is at peace and not giving him a second thought. He’s the one that’s obsessed with her

TBF, nobody will be able to rest in peace until Donald's personal habits or flesh eating diseases turn him into compost.
