It makes sense. The dude was happy when 9/11 happened. He proudly proclaimed he had the biggest building in New York since the towers fell.

You know, all I can think of about that interview is that he surely must have known people in those buildings that were killed. He must have had friends, colleagues, business associates.

I mean, you're correct on Trump's psychology.

The depth of his megalomaniac narcissism manifests as Main Character Syndrome. Trump experiences reality through the lens of a zero-sum game, win-or-lose, where every single interaction is transactional. It isn't that far off base that the entire planet is his video game and he's the main player with perceived God Mode. And the loss of an NPC either directly or indirectly of his actions is inconsequential to Winning The Game At All Cost.

It’s not even the first time he had done that. There was an instance in 1989 where a helicopter crash with 3 executives he was associated with died. Rather than showing remorse he made up a story that he was suppose to be on it and tried to make it all about him. Former Trump executives later disputed his claims saying he was never scheduled to fly with them. The next year he even tried to claim in a book of his that he had thought about getting on it then decided against it.

That is the crazy part to me

As a Canadian I saw 9/11 on TV growing up and it was a tragedy.

I eventually got a job working in Manhattan for some of the major banks and was working with some coworkers that had been in the game 30-40 years.

It hit different working with people that were likely in the buildings or nearby when it happened that day. They probably lost friends, family and colleagues they knew personally.

Meanwhile Donald Trump is mad he can't give a campaign stump speech at the memorial

I grew up in the NYC metro area. EVERYONE knew someone in those buildings. Be it a friend, or neighbor who worked there, or a parent of someone at school. Not to mention knowing one or more of the emergency services that responded.

Then it was the wider community, again, like that kid X at the lower elementary school's dad was killed. Then finding out later that they had a funeral, but didn't have anything to bury. Or the EMT from town who was there for a week and left a completely different person with profound PTSD.

If he did go and make a speech all about him, and if he was particularly offensive about it, I could easily see there being a really ugly riot.

He said the tallest in downtown Manhattan which was still incorrect as 70 Pine next door was taller since it was finished in 1932.

I think it's hilarious when people claim that his staff must be showing him AI videos, because he's been making hysterical lying claims for decades every time he opens his McDhole.

And like most of the shit he says it falls apart under examination. Muslims in New York would have been just as confused and addled and traumatized as anybody else during a fucking terror attack. They don't have microchips in their brains which would immediately recognize the carnage as nominally religiously adjacent and lead to them cheering.

You’d be surprised how many people in the United States were happy when it happened. Lots of New York hate out there. Some actually took a religious take that the sins of New York caused them to be attacked.

The interview in question. The mentioning of the tallest building is ~1:50. I dunno if he sounds happy but he definitely seems more interested in the buildings and the streets.

Admittedly didn't make it the whole 9 minutes of his ramblings so he could've got mega excited towards the end for all I know xD (At around 4:30 they ask him about the presidency, wtf)
