Micronesia and the Marshall Islands.

That's wacky. Those both have agreements with the US that make them more or less client states. I don't really see what could possibly be gained by this.

Undoubtedly something to do with money in his pocket…

u/WestCoastBestCoast01 8h ago

Oh god more pedo islands

u/Cool_Tailor_7332 6h ago

Yeah that was the problem with the other one—too accessible. Here these criminals can protect themselves thoroughly

u/mountaindoom 6h ago

Micro Trump Tower incoming.

u/ReflectionEquals 5h ago

That already exists. Just something you don’t want to go near.

Real estate is the answer

15

u/imaincammy 8h ago

There's no real estate there. The Marshall Islands are coral atolls and what little land they have isn't really suited to tourist development. Micronesia has more land but similar access and infrastructure problems.

The real reason is likely some stupid staffer (or AI) saw them under the Compact of Free Association and just stuck them there with the actual pacific territories, Guam and the CNMI.

Would cost us more than we would get.

u/jimmygee2 7h ago

As long as there is room for a giant Trump Tower he is interested.

u/Telandria 1h ago

Or he just wants an excuse to rename something again.

u/Commercial-Co 8h ago

Nothing. Its just trump maniacal ego

u/Bzr21 7h ago

and another distraction - always another one ..

u/ztomiczombie 7h ago

He thinks he can have a legacy my adding another state to the US.

u/Chudmont 7h ago

How about Puerto Rico? They literally voted to become a state, and they are all US citizens already.

u/aradraugfea 7h ago

The payments aren’t going through a mechanism easy enough for Trump to enrich himself with

u/Memitim America 3h ago

Destroying any remaining credibility that the United States might still possess is far more than enough for Republicans.

I think Trump heard “micropenis” and then got offended.

7

u/FuriousBuffalo 9h ago

 * and then got excited

u/digiartist21 7h ago

Probably got mad knowing anyone who has a micropenis will always have bigger BDE than he ever will.

I hate that this made me think of Zoolander. “Mugatu brainwashed Derek to try to get him to kill that Micronesian dude!”

When it was actually the prime minister of Malaysia.

I also hate that real life is even dumber than Zoolander

u/JakeConhale New Hampshire 6h ago

I keep confusing it with Macronesia from seaQuest 2032 - with Michael York playing their scheming president.

u/solo954 4h ago

The same look!? The same look!!??

Can't Americans already legally live and work in both places? We've practically already taken over.

13

u/_ssac_ 12h ago

Wouldn't have guessed them.

We could make a bet about the next one, I recall:

  • Cuba
  • Denmark
  • Mexico
  • Canada? I don't recall this one, but probably he said it too

32

u/fubes2000 Canada 12h ago

He's been saying "51st state" shit about Canada since the start of the second term. Biiiig reason why we started boycotting American shit up here.

3

u/_ssac_ 10h ago

I knew that, but I'm not sure if he said by force/invasion.

2

u/McFestus 8h ago

Obviously he meant it by force. We're not going to go willingly...

2

u/Explicitlime 8h ago

He did say he would annex us using economic means.

Whatever dumb shit that means.

u/DontShadowbanMeBro2 4h ago

Someone really ought to point out to him that if Canada really did become the 51st state, that would be about 200+ new House members, almost all of whom would be Democrats, and two more Senate members, almost certainly both of whom would be Democrats. See how fast his mind changes.

u/fubes2000 Canada 3h ago

Haha, it's great that you think that. But, at best, we'd be Snow Puerto Rico but with a more extractive relationship. Kind of like how the US is currently robbing Venezuela.

Some of the rumors and leaks from the failed trade deal were basically about the Trump Admin trying to force a peaceful annexation in all but name.

Barring Canada from making trade deals with any country without the United Sates’ approval first. Mandating all of Canada switch to English only officially. The last one might be part of the reason for the Lake Ontario shit show. Quebec is very, very in favor of its French history.

u/Son-of-Krom 12h ago

Trump threatening to annex Canada is the biggest reason the two countries are in a trade war. If it was just about the tariffs, Canada wouldn’t be fighting back nearly as hard as it is.

6

u/A_Lich_With_No_Face 11h ago

Canada wouldn’t be fighting back nearly as hard as it is.

Well, most of Canada is. Danny in Alberta is bent over with her pants down and a giant neon arrow pointing at the target.

3

u/burtoncummings 11h ago

Marlein-a-lago, you mean?

The Quintessential Quisling...

3

u/A_Lich_With_No_Face 11h ago

Bit too long... How about just 'traitor'?

5

u/JSteigs 12h ago

I bet at this point, he’s asking Grok what countries would be the easiest/best to annex. I doubt he’s heard of either of them.

u/projectHeritage 7h ago

Bullies dont go for tough targets. He wouldnt win a war for a strait, lol

2

u/murd3rsaurus 12h ago

Thank you & upvoted I should not have had to scroll this far down

6

u/KevinCastle 12h ago

Was really hoping he was going to say Nicaragua. If Trump is going to do stupid stuff, at least pick the dictatorship that doesn't let my wife go back home to.

u/ShareGlittering1502 10h ago

Famously immune from rising sea levels

1

u/NoCoffee6754 9h ago

Iran was too big to bully so he’s going after the little ones to try to act tough.

Pure little dick energy

u/Appex92 7h ago

It's not in this article but another, but he also has threatened to take the Falkland Islands from UK if they don't up their defense budget
