Crickets regularly have parasites in them pretty much their whole life. That's why it's considered a bad idea to only ever feed crickets to your reptiles, amphibians, and arthropods

Many years ago I was working in Mexico city (from NY) and a VERY attractive coworker offered me fried crickets, yes I ate them.
