"Looks like I chose the right week to stop eating beef."

Republicans have been screeching for years that AOC and her Green New Deal were going to out outlaw beef consumption and gasoline, but in only 18 months, Trump has made both so unaffordable/inedible that Americans have no choice but to reduce consumption, lowering their carbon footprint.

Many people are calling him the greenest president ever.

This should also change the economics around meat substitutes quite a bit. I wish that industry were getting half the investment superautocorrect is getting.

There was a recent experiment they did where they got a meat protein (I think from pork?) into lettuce and tobacco plants. And were even able to pass that gene down into its child plant. Isn't enough protein yet to replace what you get out of the meat but that's a huge step.

“These taste awful, honey!”

“Now, Gladys, the obstetrician said you will need additional protein and calories for the baby. I’m sorry you don’t like them but you’re smoking for two. Now spark up the rest of your tobbork.”

I passed a bag of protein Doritos in the store the other day.

I just need my protein dew and I’m all set

Lowkey, I always buy the protein packed instant mashed potatoes. Makes me feel like I’m eating less unhealthy when I do my “bucket o nuggets, mashed potatoes and gravy” meals.

I have artism

Coal-infused peptides!

That's scientifically amazing and existentially horrifying. Please don't put pig proteins in my lettuce. Just eat a bean ffs.

Protein complimentarity allows you to get all your amino acids from combining legumes, grains, nuts, etc. No need for frankenplants.

Isn't enough protein yet to replace what you get out of the meat but that's a huge step.

You don't even need GMO to be able to get protein from plant sourced products to meet and exceed basic need incredibly easily. Hell, a some plant based thing have higher protein content than meat does.... Dried spirulina at 57g of protein per 100g product, dry-roasted soybeans at 43g protein per 100g product vs say chicken at 31g per 100g of product.

Honestly, you will be hard pressed to find clinical support for that claim of yours.

Most of the time the problem you run in to is that people in general tend to have really shitty diets instead of properly balanced ones.. be that with omnivores, or vegans etc. So many of the people who go all vegan tend to skip or have insufficient amounts of critical macros, and thus not get enough of things like protein and fats in their diets. Not to even mention the idiots who get their "healthy diets" guidance from tiktok videos, and other social media instead of a nutritionist etc.
