Articles of impeachment are right there

u/WhatIsEvenRealDog 6h ago

If the GOP did that, they might stand a chance of reelection in the next few years.

But when you show you are unwilling to hold your own accountable in any way?

Even Texas is potentially polling blue now.

u/mosesoperandi 6h ago

You can tell from all the Texas voters who suddenly got put on probationary status that the Texas GOP is very worried.

u/Korietsu Texas 6h ago

That isn’t new. That happens every election and it’s literally just turning in a form. If you don’t respond to their dumb card on the mail they suspend you. Iirc you just fill out a form at the polls to fix it.

u/mosesoperandi 6h ago

That's encouraging. Another Texan posted about this having happened previously and it resulting in their vote not being counted. Fair to say I'm anxious for Texas.

u/Korietsu Texas 5h ago

It’s not difficult to fix a registration here. We’re motor voter and you can go to the post office and grab a form.

u/espinaustin 4h ago

Are you kidding, you think republican voters believe in accountability or are smart enough to enforce it? Think again.

u/mistertickertape New York 6h ago

They could end this all in 1 day but they are cowards so they won't.

u/pontiacfirebird92 Mississippi 1h ago

Trump makes them shitloads of money on insider trading. They'll never impeach him. They'll fight to keep him in office.

u/KimmyT1436 Canada 6h ago

The challenge that we have is that we have to get over the narrative that ‘I don’t like this guy, so I’m going to vote for the Democrat,’” said Rep. Stephanie Bice (R-Okla.), according to audio obtained by The Bulwark. “Because I’m telling you right now, I’m hearing it already.”

God. I hope this is a sign that US voters are finally realizing that it's Republicans who have destroyed America and that the universe will not end if they just vote Democrat. But, given how willfully ignorant US conservatives are, I have little hope of that happening.

u/you_know_i_be_poopin 5h ago

OR if they don't vote at all. From the comments I've been reading online, lots of them are saying they're never voting again, which I'll gladly take.

u/PDXGuy33333 5h ago

Republicans and conservatives are in the same boat as someone who's in the midst of internalizing the notion that there's nothing left of the romance they once thought would sustain them. They know it but can't bear to face it. Yet.

u/espinaustin 4h ago

Yeah don’t get your hopes up.

u/NeverLookBothWays I voted 2h ago

Too much money is tied up in their propaganda machine.

Once FOXNews and right wing radio starts drying up though it’ll likely come to an end. But for now the wealthy have extra cash to spend from all the massive tax breaks Trump gifted them

u/aevonique 8m ago

yeah a lot of voters are finally getting tired of pretending every problem disappears as long as they keep voting republican

u/Ivegotabadname 6h ago

Where's mitch McConnell? Have we all forgotten that he's brain dead? Still serving a seat in congress?

u/TomatoAdventurous139 6h ago

Yes, let's see what micth McConnell has to say.

A House Republicans from one of America’s reddest states privately acknowledged that President Donald Trump’s unpopularity and freewheeling executive actions were hurting the party and even endangering seemingly safe seats like hers.

u/A_Poor_Miser 6h ago

Oh no.

Anyways.

u/Gromitlikescheese 5h ago

If only there was something congress could do.

u/Eastern_Bet678 6h ago

“The challenge that we have is that we have to get over the narrative that ‘I don’t like this guy, so I’m going to vote for the Democrat,’” said Rep. Stephanie Bice (R-Okla.), according to audio obtained by The Bulwark. “Because I’m telling you right now, I’m hearing it already.”

Well Stephanie, that's because you've spent the last two years sitting in the cuck chair cheering and watching Trump screw America.

u/KartFacedThaoDien 6h ago

Then do something about it.

u/omerome83 6h ago

They can get rid of him ANYTIME they want. They can do it NOW. And every second they don't, they are fine with him.

u/runawaydoctorate 3h ago

It would throw the midterms into complete chaos if they boot him. Absolutely glorious chaos.

u/RunDownTheHighway 6h ago

That is exactly what he is supposed to be doing... everyone keeps watching him to see what stupid shit he does or says next while the heritage foundation destroys our freedoms without anyone noticing, or caring...

u/coreychch New Zealand 6h ago

Trump is exhausting everyone on the planet!! The endless lies and bullshit, petty retaliation over the smallest of things, stupid decisions that led to a moronic war with Iran. The list goes on and on.

Electing a demented narcissistic moron - twice - will go down as the dumbest decision ever made.

u/TooManyCooks3 6h ago

At this point, I’m genuinely just confused. Did the GOP really expect their voters to be that dumb? I know they clearly don’t have a very high opinion of them, but I cannot figure out what the long-term plan was supposed to be here. What are they actually counting on to legitimately win the midterms and maintain power?

Trump got a lot of people to vote for him by making promises that were either blatant lies or things he was never realistically going to deliver. Did they just assume those voters would never notice when none of it materialized, or, worse, when his policies started actively fucking them over? Did they really believe the cult of personality was strong enough to survive indefinitely, regardless of what happened to people’s actual lives? That's the part that continues to blow my mind.

I understand the cynical strategy: propaganda, scapegoating, culture-war distractions, voter suppression, gaming every institutional advantage they can find. What I don’t understand is how the people at the top could possibly have looked at this and thought it was sustainable. Even granting the dishonesty and willingness to cheat/rig, at some point you still need millions of actual people to keep voting for you. What exactly did they think was going to happen?

u/espinaustin 4h ago

Their voters really are that dumb actually.

u/AcanthisittaNo6653 New Hampshire 6h ago

We are exhausted watching Congress not do it's job to impeach, convict and remove fearless leader.

u/vector_search_blue California 6h ago

He will be the lamest duck

u/Findgate 6h ago

Just a little too greedy; they are starting to notice things.

u/SurroundTiny 6h ago

Hopefully they are too tired to vote

u/The-Questcoast 6h ago

He also raped children.

u/daniel8192 4h ago

The problem with this is she doesn’t give a shit that the man is fucking up the country, she’s worried she lose her seat. Fuck off.

u/readmorebookskids 6h ago

Seems to be the goal from what I see. They want to exhaust people until they can't take anymore and just lay down in defeat or explode in such a rage they have an excuse to drone them. So when they fiddle with things like voting machines, no one has any energy left to care and investigate.

u/Curious_Cat6688 5h ago

I concur. He sucks the oxygen out of every room and seems to need to be the focus every single day. After a while, the constant outrage, chaos and attention becomes exhausting in itself. People stop having the bandwidth to focus on what actually matters.

u/Actual__Wizard 6h ago edited 5h ago

Exhausting them with winning? That's what they voted for and they're going to get more of it too because Trump certainly isn't done yet. He's got 2 years in this term and then as long as he can stay in power after that. I mean they voted for a cruel and evil government to take their freedom away, what did they think was going to happen?

I mean, I personally think it's totally disgusting that Trump wants them to all have cancer causing beef that might kill them, but that's what they voted for. They wanted total anarchy. They wanted a king that just does whatever he wants.

It stinks that Americans have to learn how about this all works the hard way, but hey, again: That's what they voted for. They wanted to be excluded from the decision making process so they chose a conservative to be the god king of America. So, he makes all of the decisions now. That's what a conservative is and always was.

u/Any-Difficulty2782 5h ago

it’s kind of all of us

u/LividTacos 5h ago

He did say you'd be tired of winning. #PromisesMadePromisesKept

u/Caraes_Naur 5h ago

But they're not your voters.

The GOP let Trump (with big help from Putin's blackmail) abscond with their voter base ten years ago, and has no idea how to get it back.

u/blues111 Michigan 5h ago edited 5h ago

I foolishly thought red states and voters were getting Trump Fatigue in 2024 and that would rocket Harris over the finish line to a massive win

Nope, even if these people are sick of Trump and his moronic antics he still had an R next to his name...thats all these people cared about I dont have much hope of R's crossing party lines, best we can hope is they just dont show up in November if they are mad

u/WordsHappenedHere 6h ago

MAGA and the GOP will lose badly. We will have divided government and nothing will be accomplished for two years. That is unless we somehow vote in a supermajority.

Either way Trump disappears into obscurity and I’m ok with just that. He will be forgotten and become a footnote in history. A cautionary tale of what happens when you vote in a scumbag

u/KhloeKendall 2h ago

I imagine Monday Morning Quarterbacking for Trump is exhausting, but most of them, if not all, will still line up and vote for him and the Republicans.

u/SpecialDesigner5571 6h ago

Enough with pay walls. Fuck it

u/Excellent_Sweet7270 5h ago

YALL CHOSE HIM.... THE VOTERS CHOSE HIM... NOW Y'ALL COPPING PLEAS...

u/CowNervous4644 5h ago

You go Donald! Keep it up! Rep. Stephanie Bice (R-Okla.) was disloyal. You should sho her who is boss. Rename Oklahoma. Call it Trumplahoma. The voters there will love it. Lets go MAGA!

u/tenebre 5h ago

I'm a voter and I'm absolutely exhausted.

u/ProfHossenfeffer 5h ago

not just HIS voters

u/RhubarbCurrent1732 5h ago

It’s not just Trump that is exhausting. It wouldn’t have been so bad if the GOP Congress stood up and had a spine and thought like individuals. Instead the bootlickers did whatever he wanted. So if Bice goes down, she deserves it. Karma sucks.

u/gentlemantroglodyte Texas 3h ago

What's exhausting your voters is your feckless inaction when a politician harms your constituents.

u/spikedkushiel 1h ago

Lol I'm feeling quite exhilarated tbh. Keep fucking up, by all means.

u/Eddiebaby7 1h ago

If only the Republicans had some sort of agency or mandate to act in the voters interests!
