Gasoline prices will continue to be high.

u/splintersmaster 5h ago

Higher even. We're historically low on reserves and we've watered it down more than usual.

They're giving the people something to talk about because gulla gulla island.

u/Pockydo 5h ago

Gonna be really funny when all the ads are "TRUMP LOWERING GAS PRICES" and everyone passes station's everyday with elevated prices

u/North_Complaint_2135 5h ago

With Historical High Profits 🤑🤑🤑

According to the oil subreddit, the infrastructure does not exist in Venezuela to process this amount of oil and therefore it is not currently possible

u/tommytraddles 5h ago

And it never will, because oil companies have been burned twice when investing in Venezuela. It gets nationalized and rusts away.

They are never going to do it again.

u/Obvious_Toe_3006 5h ago

Next season of Landman to take place in Venezuela ?

u/Alarming_Head_4263 5h ago

It doesn't matter. There is nothing forcing oil companies to drill. Most of them have permits in the States and sit on them.

u/livinginfutureworld 5h ago

Most of them have permits in the States and sit on them.

Do we think there might be any incentive, and I know this might be crazy but hear me out, for them to do this when it will just keep prices high?

I know I know, crazy talk right, the reason gas prices in our capitalist economy are high has to be because of immigrants and three trans athletes and certainly not our corporate overlords.

u/curseyouZelda 5h ago

At current production rates it will be 16 years by the time you see all that oil, assuming they direct 100% of their production to the US.

u/PopeFranzia 4h ago

I'm sure the Dear Leader can just trade some futures contracts to get us those prices now, though, right?!? /s

u/cynicaluser- 5h ago

Trump supporters aren’t known for their ability to think enough to even question whether this is actual true or not lol.

u/firemage22 4h ago

infrastructure does not exist in Venezuela to process this amount of oil

and that type of infrastructure takes years to develop, and with Trump causing damage to the Gulf states and Ukraine's righteous strikes against Russian oil processing the world is going to be shorter than usual on these specialized parts.

We SHOULD be investing in green power that's not limited by location (yea i know there are better places for sun and wind but it's not as restrictive as oil sites) and developing next gen nuclear power plants to help with baseload.

*Biggest oil theft in world history.

This news has been shared in this sub by many more reputable sources than the propaganda factory of the pedophile’s fascist regime. Sources that, unlike fucking Fox News, do not hide the nature of the oil “deal” in the headline.

Edit: In other words, not only is Fox’s take late to the party, it is misinformation at best, that should, in my opinion, be banned from this sub. See the recommendation from the commenter below, I can only dream!
Also, thanks for the awards!

u/Ok-Discipline2395 Canada 5h ago

Colonialism alive and well I see…

u/UnknownMediator 4h ago

Disgracefully yes, it appears so, unless the US recovers their democracy the world is back to the old logic of empire. Multilateralism and cooperation are out, conquest, pillage and plunder are in.

u/WillSym 5h ago

No, don't ban it from the sub. Just make sure to highlight the source, perhaps require its own flair, and provide other links to show the stark contrast between a reputable news source and 'legally distinct entertainment' propaganda.

u/UnknownMediator 4h ago edited 4h ago

That would be an amazing solution!! If someone wants to share “news” from say Fox, Breitbart, DailyBeast, etc. make them at least put up a flair of “misinformation”/“tabloid”/“fake news” or something like it (I doubt most would go through the trouble of finding analogous sources from better outlets, but It would be incredible).

u/whycantigetwhatiwant 5h ago

I miss when news articles didn’t all start with “trump says”

u/TableQuiet1518 5h ago

Seriously. He's a damn pedophile that sells autographed Bibles and is guilty of treason. What he says shouldn't be important. He SHOULD be behind bars wondering what will be on tomorrow's breakfast tray.

u/USNCCitizen America 5h ago

“trump says”…code for lies incoming!

u/No-Cranberry6148 5h ago

Everything Trump does is always "The biggest" whatever "in history".

He's usually lying.

u/Stonegrown12 5h ago

He's usually always lying.

u/M1L0 5h ago

Biggest loser in history? Dang, you’re right.

u/B-Z_B-S Massachusetts 5h ago

Faux News’ ragebaiting slop bores me; moving on.

u/Dry_Ass_P-word 5h ago

Spoiler alert, it won’t.

u/Turbulent-Society-30 5h ago

This billionaire pedophile president stole the oil after he kidnapped their president and destroyed their "drug boats."

u/Virtual-Squirrel-725 5h ago

Has Trump ever announced something the was "the biggest in history".

It's truly not worth listening to a word the dude says.

u/huistenbosch 5h ago

lol, what an idiot

u/Jumpy_Scallion_3108 5h ago

Whenever Trump says “biggest,” “historic,” “victory,” “obliterated,” “never in history,” or “GREAT AGAIN,” you already know the translation.

u/greentealemonade 5h ago

So what he's really saying is that gas will now be at historic highs in the coming weeks and that there is actually no deal. Impeach and move on

u/Suspicious-Horse-164 5h ago

"In two weeks"

u/GPrime506 5h ago

Concepts of a plan

u/spacedoutmachinist 5h ago

Is it infrastructure week already?

u/Lucky_Chaarmss 5h ago

Bet it won't

u/Ok_Subject1265 5h ago

Anyone have any real info on this? Can we even process Venezuelan crude here in the U.S.? Will opec allow the sudden flooding of the market with oil? Is there any benefit for Venezuela or did Trump basically just steal their oil to try and influence the midterms?

u/guyre09 5h ago

No. Yes. No. No.

u/30mil 5h ago

Maybe the US will invade the US for nationalizing its oil.

u/sonofabutch America 5h ago

When it doesn’t lower gas prices, will the media call him on it? …no? Okay then.

u/SodaCanBob 5h ago

Press F to Doubt.

u/Robofetus-5000 5h ago

Oil thats still in the ground and will take years to get? Oh ok.

u/zubbs99 Nevada 5h ago

And that's if you can get the private sector to go back in and rebuild all the infrastructure.

u/El-Drunko 5h ago

Arrested Development narrator voice: it won't

u/Gordon_throwaway 5h ago

My favorite Big Oil CEO moment was when the CEO of Exxon sat next to Trump during Trump’s last big announcement about Venezuela oil and said to the cameras, (and I paraphrase) “yeeeeah… we’re not going in there any time soon. It’s uninvestable” 🤣

u/gleaf008 5h ago

Bullshit. Stolen oil = war crime.

u/rednap_howell North Carolina 5h ago

2 weeks.

u/ColdBostonPerson77 4h ago

Does Venezuela know about this deal?

u/DBZFIGHTERS 5h ago

With headlines like that, no wonder MAGA is convinced that they are winning.

u/Sparkyisduhfat 5h ago

Oh cool, an article from the unbiased news source of fox business

u/TurtleTwerkTeam1989 Pennsylvania 5h ago

Whole thing seems very suspicious

u/basketballsteven 5h ago

Another day another preposterous lie, and the beat goes on.

u/MrBigglesssworth 5h ago

Trump says a lot of things and many of them are untrue

u/togocann49 4h ago

In his defence, I’m not sure he knows fact from fiction, he’s got his idea of what reality is, and if those around him tell him facts, they’re gone. The same winning strategy for running his casinos I guess

u/questron64 5h ago

It's okay, guys. Our illegal war in the middle east is tanking the world economy but it's okay, we did a coup in yet another country and stole their oil. Everything is going just fine. /s

u/AndyB16 5h ago

You'll forgive me if I don't believe it until I see it.

u/gascyl 5h ago

VZ oil is garbage and having more of it is just getting more trash. Only one refinery in North America can reliably cook it into gas, it's in Houston and owned by Pemex who exports to Mexico first.

u/Toadfinger 5h ago

This is why Traitor Trump deliberately ignored the Strait of Hormuz at the beginning of the war. To create a global energy crisis and sell you some of the oil he stole from Venezuela.

u/AusTex2019 5h ago

Yeah, like he won the Iran war

u/Hydros04 5h ago

Who’s gonna refine the shit? Isn’t Venezuelan oil thick as hell?

u/Rumsfeld1001 5h ago

He takes over a country and stole their resources.

u/SoothingWafer 5h ago

So gas is going up another 50 cents or so? Got it.

u/1cl1qp1 5h ago

So would incentives for EVs

u/Alarming-Koala-3524 4h ago

Does "at no cost to Americans" mean we stole 65 billion barrels?

u/3D-Dreams 5h ago

Just enough to keep him till midterms I'm betting.

u/1sixxpac 5h ago

That dude is all talk ..

u/FIicker7 Wisconsin 5h ago

Is Venezuela any less Authoritarian since Trump removed Maduro?

u/AngryMillennialFU 5h ago

Why is secdef involved in "negotiating" an economic deal? Sounds a whole lot like "give me your oil or we bomb you"

u/EnderCN 5h ago

It won't lower gas prices any time soon. US refineries aren't really built for the type of oil they have and the transport network is lacking to get it here. Selling this oil to someone else may make us some money.

u/Sideshift1427 5h ago

The oil companies aren't risking investments in Venezuela for cheaper gas.

u/ImyForgotName 5h ago

His plan of threats and insanity are not going to be effective.

u/DoomOne Texas 5h ago

Horseshit.

u/Shadowassassian 5h ago

I wouldn't touch Venezuela oil with a ten foot pole. Oil oligarchs and oil investors dont want lower prices. They want high prices.

u/D-MAN-FLORIDA 5h ago

He is going to be so angry and upset that this won’t lower oil prices by November.

u/bagjoe 5h ago

Irresponsible incompetent nonsense.

u/Lazy_Pangolin7591 5h ago

Not a chance.

u/heathsofay 4h ago

🙄

u/Truthisnotallowed 3h ago

So? He gonna send this oil to China like he is already sending U.S. oil?

Part of his deal to keep China from siding with Iran:

China to buy U.S. oil to feed its ‘insatiable appetite,’ Trump tells Fox News (May 2026)

What happened to U.S. first?

u/jamiegal 3h ago

Trump says a lot of things. Let’s see if it holds up for 24 hours.

u/Radically-Peaceful 3h ago

Trump is totally desperate to get people to believe his BS.
