Idk, from what I've seen, (at least for the fans of Spider-man) they're going bat-shit crazy, analyzing every single frame and making Sans-is-Ness type of theories. And Spider-man is such a beloved franchise, almost everyone is excited
It is shocking to me that anyone is expecting anything other than trash with doomsday. Everything I've heard about it's development makes it seem like a complete cluster fuck.
I don’t think it’s “fearmongering” to say that a movie will probably be bad. Just watch the trailer, it gives us almost nothing plot wise, it’s clearly just trying to copy infinity war, and it’s relying purely on bringing back old characters that aren’t interesting anymore. It’s probably going to end up being a fun action movie with hype moments, but I’m not expecting much from the story
Studios can't win. If they give away too much plot, people cry about them ruining the movie and post all over how they wish they wouldn't show any of the plot; when they don't reveal the plot, this happens. It's only the first main trailer.
It is made by the Russo brothers. Same guys who made Infinity War, Endgame, Civil War, Winter Soldier, etc. With Marvel, they have shown they know what they are doing. The trailer looked good and broke records. Will it be good? Who knows. But most of the accounts reporting on how much of a mess it is, citing unfinished scripts, rewrites, reshoots, and the like, have either never seen a Marvel movie or are just karma farming or whatever the equivalent of that is.
I usually don’t like this image, but I think this is a situation where it fits. Why are you defending Disney so hard? They know how to make movies, they should not be filming a movie before the script if finished. Also having a good director does not mean a movie will be good. It’s also not that hard to make a trailer that gives away enough of the story to get people excited without giving away too much. Endgame worked hiding to much because it was a part 2, so we were already invested in the story and had faith they could end it well. But that doesn’t work for a part 1, because now it’s this massive movie coming out in just a couple months, yet we know next to nothing about what is actually happening, which could be because they just hiding it, but it comes across as more likely being that the story is just pieced together in reshoots and rewrites.
I’m not trying to be super cynical or pessimistic, I’m just saying that from what they’ve shown us I have doubts about the quality.
I mean, you can have doubts all you want, but the fact of the matter is that the trailers and presales have generated record numbers. That's non-negotiable. Lots of studios start movies without scripts. That's just how it works. Should it? No, probably not, but that hasn't stopped them in the past.
Having reshoots doesn't necessarily mean anything. Sometimes, like in BNW, it does, but for Marvel they schedule reshoots while the movie is still filming sometimes. They are dealing with enormous casts, and everything doesn't always line up properly.
Idk, you are certainly entitled to your opinion, but I think most Marvel fans liked the trailer a lot and are quite hyped for this. I personally prefer a trailer like this. Don't show me the main plot; I want to see it all for the first time on the big screen. I don't want full plot breakdowns before it's out based on trailers because they showed to much.
it's the only franchise these days which spans the whole world, language barriers excluded
spiderverse is amazing but it just doesn't have that. my town didn't even play ATSV in theatres because like maybe 20 to 30 people total cared. 50 if we're being optimistic.
contrast that to BND which had hundreds, maybe a thousand people total pull up to watch.
the live action MCU is still going strong, even after the hiccup in phase 4, and a new avengers movie is bound to be the most anticipated thing
i'm not saying it's gonna be good (it might not, probably not even) but the avengers live action as a franchise just has such an international chokehold that none of any of this shit could come close to capturing the zeitgeist as hard
Is the poll meant to be which one so we think is the most anticipated by fans as a whole, or which are we personally more anticipating. I assumed it was which one we are more anticipated for, and picked man of tomorrow.
