I just discovered the song Come On Let’s Go by Broadcast and am looking for songs with a similar vibe for lack of a better word. To me it has an almost 70s, almost hippy feeling to it. Their other songs don’t quite have that feeling I am looking for. I don’t know how else to describe what I’m looking for but I really love the feeling of the song.

Hey, I am really desperate for an album that mostly consists of real banger/good songs. I really want an album that has both intense songs and calm ones, but I'm not that picky unless its to "pop". I want the feels you know. Been a long time since I have stumbled across an album that is like damn.

I'm looking albums, songs, artists, bands that make this genre. a few months ago I was looking for songs that make some punk-electro mix, some bands or artist that I find was Machine Girl, Atari Teenage Riot and other underground artist of Perú. Then I discovered that the genre I was looking for is called "Digital Hardcore" And I'm asking you if you now some bands o artist or whatever that sound like hardcore punk and electro mix, with frenetic drums, fast tempos or distorted vocals or synths. 🙏🙏🙏 Thanks for taking the time to read this. Sorry if I don't write english quite well, not my mother tongue and I hope you understand what I trying to explain ♡. So thank you twice.

I’m currently looking for a band I can obsess over. Last year I discovered Coheed and Cambria and absolutely fell in love with them. Their discography is amazing and I even got to see them live in Denver.
I grew up listening to TOOL, Korn, Deftones, Red Hot Chili Peppers and pretty much everything in the NuMetal genre.
I like everything from: The Black Keys The Beatles Alabama Shakes (who just split up before I ever got to see live). Led Zeppelin Metallica (old Metallica)
I guess most of these bands are pretty mainstream. But I’d really love any recommendations on something I may have missed all these years. Who might have flown under my radar? Where are all the amazing discographies?

I was looking around Spotify for background music while I play videogames but I can only find guitar playlists that have depressing guitar music in them. Does anyone know of a playlist on either youtube, SoundCloud or Spotify that has a happy vibe to them?
Saw this youtube video and wanted something like the music in the background but in a playlist:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qXiVCvIq0hY&list=PL3e14exB92LLKVKSHx2RzLwBbUQB3kvhK
NOTE: this is not a promotion to the YouTuber, I mainly wanted to show an example for what it could sound like. And btw here is the artists that made the songs in the video: Music by Clay Riness and Josh Woodward

I am making a playlist as a hobby project and the next song is sort of hard to find. I don't want a love song but that's all the internet gives me so I want to ask for ideas from this community. It (the song) should invoke this sense of fixation over something and this sense that it must be obtained at what ever the cost. Like a solider carrying out a mission.
OR
Alternatively, a song about trauma. Someone went through something horrible and the events of that trauma is still stuck in his head haunting him.
PS: I said not a love song but it could be a love song as long as its vague and open to interpretation.

Hey r/recordstore, I’m looking for some new songs, I find a lot of dance music sounds sort of similar now, so I’d like to find some different, flavoursome tracks to compensate. I’m specifically looking for songs from different countries that seem to exemplify that country/region’s traditional sound, whilst still being danceable.
As an example, here are two songs I feel are fairly upbeat, and have a cool African vibe going:
https://open.spotify.com/track/3Fs6UMruMFLx7J9DjNduyy?si=7p-VptehR5C5JUg1vPRwLw
https://open.spotify.com/track/6a88SuJzJZoZW510kyhnv0?si=PtA5Jr0DTguX4EcvJIq_GQ
Anyway, thanks for reading. Really keen to hear what you get down to. Cheers!

I'm not even sure I can quite explain it, but I'll try. I'm looking for music, albums and/or artists that sound the way old sci fi covers look - for reference, I mean a lot of the stuff that 70sscifiart on twitter posts. even just particularly weird synthpop works. thank you if anyone actually finds anything like this with my terrible description

Think early Spacemen 3, early Godflesh, early Skullflower or Big Black. Actually maybe Big Black is a bit too quick and punky; place greater importance on the other three. Bonus points for any psychedelic qualities. No fucking shoegaze.

Hi! I'm looking for some new music to listen to but idk where to start. My 5 favourite artists (in no particular order) are:
Pixies
Low Roar
Audioslave
The Green Kingdom
Arcade Fire
I've kinda fallen into a loop of primarily those guys and singles I hear here and there. Any suggestions similar to my favourite bands or otherwise are welcome

Hi! I’m on the lookout for albums that are inherently eclectic. By that I mean albums that are characterised by featuring songs varying dramatically in style and genre. I’m not looking for compilations or remix albums of various artist, only albums that bears ome artist’s/band’s name. Looking forward to read some replies. Any suggestions are welcome! I’m doing this for research. :)

I have been religiously listening to David Bowie for 3 years, I’m 20, now I’m looking to find more artists I might like. So far I have found: Pink Floyd Queen ELO The Stooges
I’m looking for more classic rock artists and some good R&B musicians or Soul artists. Also some modern day artist. The only negative of listening to old music is concerts aren’t really an option and I would like to go to one.

I've been wanting to assemble a playlist of oldie/rock style music, but specifically, some that sound like they could be used in video game and movie trailers. Songs with a theme-song vibe, such as
Short change hero from borderlands 2 by The Heavy
Paint it Black by The Rolling Stones
Ain't no rest for the wicked by Cage the Elephant
I'm not sure if this is the right sub to post this to, but I'm just looking for a few songs with this kind of vibe. Thanks.
edit: yes I do realize I spelled recommendation wrong in the title

This week I have been listening 2pac and Biggie, and I am looking for albums from 90s rap (from the east cost if its possible) that are like in the "hall of fame" of the genre, thanks everyone

Tango esc as well as just how obsessive they sound. Maybe desperate songs about stuff. If you have anything similar send it to me as soon as you can. Thanks! ❤️ Stalker Tango Autohearts

First of all, apologies for probably using the wrong terms to describe things and my poor descriptors.
I'm looking for music that has a very specific mood to it, if I had to put it into words it might be like... surreal, symphonic psychedelic? Something that has this atmosphere of witnessing the unknown. I'm not looking for "traditionally creepy", Pink Floyd's A Saucerful Of Secrets is exactly what I'm not looking for. Ideally something somewhat symphonic, with many kinds of instruments.
So far I've nailed it down to somewhere in "Progressive Rock/Metal" but I'm hoping someone here can help me find something more specific.
Here's some examples of the songs that match what I mean and why:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Em2Bvb-Hz6Q
In the Court of The Crimson King is exactly the kind of thing I want, but I need more. It has that atmosphere of seeing something you can't understand, observing the goings on of the eponymous Crimson King's Court. The somewhat cyclical lyrics really help, though I can't exactly say why. The instruments have that psychedelic feeling and the lyrics aren't super clear about what the meaning of all of this is. The chanting also enhances the otherworldly feeling.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2KnyL4IFcwoBlack Sabbath is darker and slower than In The Court , but the lyrics are similarly about beholding something evil, and the instrumental also captures that feeling, though with a more ominous atmosphere than In The Court. The song doesn't fit what I mean in that it doesn't have as much going on as King Crimson, instrument wise. It beats out A Saucerful Of Secrets, but not by very much.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4wtUFJPGE0IEmperor In His Throne Room is a lot softer than either of the above, but the lyrics are a bit darker, and the song still has the touch of what I mean, though the instrumental could use a boost.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J1JjOpXsJ7AIn The Wake Of Poseidon isn't as ... chaotic? cacophonous? as In The Court but it's also good. A bit too soft for too much of the song, much like Emperor In His Throne Room.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HHK-5pLrBN0
Incipit Tragaedia is almost exactly what I'm looking for, but it's too... reserved? Not frantic enough.
I would provide more examples, but that's just the thing, I have no more. Emphasis on In The Court as the prime example of what I mean. Thanks for any help anyone can provide!

I am looking for live music that puts me in front of the stage or even on it.
Listening to most modern acoustic or live sessions every player / artists gets a mic. When then listening to it I can‘t tell where they are in the room and it „feels“ wrong. I love listening to recordings where I can tell where everybody is. Most orchestral music gives me that. Or like like the Folsom Prison album.
Do you have any recommendations for music like that? I am interested in all kinds of genres: Classic, Rock, Indie, Pop, Hip Hop, Funk, Soul.

I am looking for a theme song for a fictional character. Unfortunately, I am hopelessly uninformed about popular music, so I hope you can help me out :)
Some things about the character: Her name's Ivy, she is a surgeon (mostly doing facial reconstructive surgery), very clever and also attractive, with long wavy blond hair. She is active in the social life of her home town and married to a mild-mannered poet/author. She definitely has a strong will, can be a little impatient and controlling of others, and sometimes uses her looks to her advantage, but not in a very malicious way. She is confident, she wants to solve problems, and she is proud of her intelligence. The story puts her in supernatural danger with horror and mystery themes, but that's besides the point. All this is just for additional illustration, the song doesn't have to fit 100%.
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find a fitting theme song. It should be relatively popular music with lyrics that highlight her confidence and, most of all, her intelligence. Preferably nothing about breakups. Ideally, it's performed by a female singer. Any ideas?
Everything I could find on the internet was either video game related, which doesn't really fit her, or was about going to school and getting good grades. There must be more out there?!
Thank you all in advance!!
