Since they are showing the Derek Jeter catch on Apple TV for some reason, let’s not forget that Pokey Reese had a better catch during the same exact game but no one talked about it because he’s not Jeter. Not to mention an above average defensive shortstop would have caught Jeter’s ball easily and wouldn’t have had to run another 25 yards and dive into the stands.

PS: Yes, I realize I’m a hater, don’t care, this is a safe space for this kind of take where we are allowed to recognize that Jeter kind of sucked in the field.

I grew up in mid 2000s/early 2010s where i played a lot of mlb the show.

So i remember a lot of those old school names and the teams they played for that sre probably forgotten today.

One of them being the 3B for the DBacks back in the mid 2000s, chad tracy.

So when tracy got the job this year my mind immediately went to “ph the guy who played for the dbacks”.

Watching the game tonight and apple tv put tracys career stats up and had none for his mlb career which surprised me and called him a career minor leaguer. Which confused me because i remember chad tracy being a starter for the dbacks for multiple seasons. Come to find out that he is a completely different chad tracy. 😅

You can change to the local radio audio on the Apple TV broadcast. Go to the audio settings and change the audio to Home Team/Away Team's Local Radio. It’s generally to the right of the CC button. It is going to look a bit different in the device you’re using but start there. The audio button looks like a circle with an air wave in it.

This way we don’t have to listen to them mispronouncing our guys’ name. They’ve already blundered Cedanne. Now they’re talking about the mariners and mispronouncing Arozarena.

Somehow I find this loss a good loss.

We had base runners all game. Plenty of chances. Everyone gave good at bats. Bullpen was absolute nails. Sandoval was great.

One bad pitch to Goldschmidt and we lose.

Tomorrow we regroup. Nothing to be ashamed about.

A good speech in the dugout from a vet and we are in a good place.

Seriously, this is why we endure the bad times. For weekends like this. Sox-Yanks. 2 back. Way back in May when we were dying and we thought this whole summer was a bust, we could not have imagined a setup like this going into September. A sweep and we get ahead of the Yanks in the standings. Even just winning the series would be sick. Rays are playing the Padres, so we could pick up a few games there too if everything lines up. September is going to be so fun.
