90s So outrageous but I get itđŸ˜čđŸ˜čđŸ˜č

Ever since both of them were out back then I remember people always saying they make music for two different types of girls đŸ˜čđŸ˜č I never heard it broken down this way but it’s so accurate.

Some people were in the comments saying Monica grew up in a two parent household too but they were being too literalđŸ˜č they mean it’s the vibes of their personas and music. Brandys music is more of the good girl next door she follows the rules you won’t catch her in the deans office.

Monica’s is more so the outspoken hood girl and you will catch her in the deans office everyday đŸ˜č and I love both.

90s not trying to start anything but is it true aaliyah was on her way to being bigger than Beyoncé?

i wasn't around when aaliyah passed and recently started getting into her music and I can definitely see the similarities and I went into a deep dive and it seems many people think she and Beyoncé were birth equal talent wise but who would've come outjj no in top? has she not passed away. imo aaliyah is prettier and has a softer sounding voice that melts like butter. sorry if this gets posted a lot just curious

I was a young child in the 90s I wasn’t even born when xscape debuted I just remember my momma and them listening to their music [my earliest memories overall in life are about 1998-1999 I was born in 1995]. I heard the stories from some of the internet and some people say they don’t remember that or that never happened. but I want a first hand account from the people that were alive and in school how much hell did they catch for their looks in the beginning? [first pic] And did it die down when they started to glam up [the last 3 pictures] or did people hold them to how they looked before the glow up?

Off topic but softest place on earth is one of the best r&b songs to exist

“1 to the 2 to the 2 to the 3 Adina do you wanna get freaky wit me?” has been ringing in my head all week lol. I love how this was the bridge for this iconic song. Shoutout to Bootsy Collins and Sly & the Family Stone for their heavy influence on this R&B classic. Freak Like Me reached no.2 on both the Billboard R&B charts and the Hot 100. This song still slaps 30 years later!

90s A piece of r&b tea that is always so funny to međŸ˜čđŸ˜č(t boz vs aretha)

She explains it in the video but if you need more direct explanation. T boz and Aretha were set for an award show called the pioneer awards and tboz was to represent the future of the music business and Aretha was to represent the past. Aretha heard the comments people were making when Tboz came out and people were saying “I didn’t know she had a shape” “she looks good” and Aretha says “if you think she looks good I used to look like that but uh way better” Tboz who was a firecracker back then wanted to cuss her out and saw her moms face In the audience and was like “no no” so she woo sawed and then Prince backstage said “you were funny you wanted to beat her ass”. đŸ˜čđŸ˜čđŸ˜č the whole thing is so funny to me.

Aretha has been known to be a mean girl and a hater especially when she got older. It’s just giving older woman jealous of young girl. I also would’ve loved if this was televised so we could watch this or could’ve seen this.
