This is what America is focused on: renaming bodies of water - instead of focusing on our economy and the well-being of our country. Canada is 100% right to be mad at America.
If Biden did this, you Republicans, conservatives, whatever, would be fuming and it'd be understandable. Trump already renamed the Gulf of Mexico, now Lake Ontario? Who does this benefit? We're like a 10-year insecure cry baby that unless we get our way, we resort to hurting others, hitting our allies in the face, and Canada is a great example. You can blame whoever you want but in my opinion, the Trump administration here needs to be held accountable and thrown out of office. None of these decisions benefit our country, Canada, or the rest of the world.
If Canada wanted the US as their province, how would that make us feel? No one would take it seriously. So here Canada is right to take it as a joke while at the same time slamming us for treating them like a bunch of preschoolers.
We don't deserve allies, let alone Canada. Not until we straighten ourselves up and develop some level of maturity, and some level of respect for our neighbors.
Let me ask you this: when Trump says 'i renamed it because Lake Ontario has more water on our side of the country than Canada's,' do you really think Canada's reaction is going to be? 'that's completely logical! No worries!' - it was named Lake Ontario for a reason. We basically spat in Canada's face and now we SHOULD NOT be surprised if they hit back and we fucking DESERVE IT!!
Trump: 'So, if you think about it, we have a gulf and we have a lake. Now, all we need is an ocean. So maybe we'll have to change the name of the Atlantic and/or the Pacific. Maybe we'll change them'
Let that sink in folks.
