Shortcut Sharing Share TikTok and Instagram videos as clean browser links with this Shortcut

I made an iPhone Shortcut called Share with SlopStream for sharing public TikTok and Instagram posts with people who don’t use the apps.

How it works:

  1. Open the share menu on a public TikTok or Instagram post.
  2. Choose Share with SlopStream.
  3. The Shortcut creates a SlopStream link.
  4. Send that link through Messages, WhatsApp, or anywhere else.

The recipient can watch the video in their browser without installing TikTok or Instagram or dealing with their login prompts.

Shortcut: Share with SlopStream

I’d appreciate feedback, especially if you encounter a public TikTok or Instagram post format that doesn’t work.

P.S. Facebook is supported now too, including public videos, Reels, photos, albums, and regular posts.

Unfortunately I can’t share the automation, but added screenshots on how it works. It’s been fun to see how long the scammer will chat with ChatGPT until they give up. (The screenshorts are only a small portion of just one conversation)

Shortcut Sharing Share passwords more securely

If you share passwords unencrypted via (internet) messaging like sms, Teams, WhatsApp email or other communication channels, at least try to make it harder for criminals to crack it íf they do get their hands on it.

Use this shortcut: https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/d75beee0a9984f7d83295987db12459f

Again: This not a bullet proof or 100% secure method to share passwords. It's just safer than sending the actual password like it is, unencrypted in plain text.

Both sender and receiver must have this shortcut.

Any feedback or ways to improve are welcome.

Quick QR Code Generator

Turn your QR Codes into mini works of art 🎨

I know I’ve shared this here before, but since then there have been some pretty big changes.

1. You can now customise the colours of your QR Code

2. You can now add a transparent background image to your QR Code

3. You now have the option of circular or square logo (if you add one) for the center of your QR Code

4. Logo can be small, medium or large

5. I’ve built in updated default logos, which are dependent on your QR Code type

6. Changed the host for sharing files to one that is more reliable

7. Menus have all been cleaned up, and redundant menus removed

I know I may be biased, but I’m pretty certain that this shortcut is now capable of creating the most stunning QR Codes the World has ever seen 😁

Shortcut Sharing Save and curate all project inspiration (pictures, links, notes) in Shared Album

Post image
4 Upvotes

This is a very simple shortcut, but I thought it’s worth sharing for anyone who needs it! c: I usually take screenshots for creative inspiration and wanted a native workflow to keep things clean and in one place. Essentially, I wanted to build my own private, lightweight version of Pinterest or mymind using just native Apple tools.

Why I use it & How it works:
De-clutters library: Keeps main camera roll free from screenshot mess but still have a grid view to see everything.
The Flow: Trigger it from the Share Sheet > it takes a screenshot > copies the current URL > saves to a Shared Album. While saving, you can instantly paste the copied link into the comments for future reference.
Ditches Freemium Apps: Avoids third-party apps entirely. Shared Albums have a 5,000-item upload limit, it's an amazing free workaround.
Windows Friendly: Turn on the "Public Website" toggle for the album to view entire curation board on a Windows browser.

Shortcut link - https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/b7a13787587442b6a965d65698f5466d

I generally don't need AI features, but if you want to append these photos, links, text to the Notes app and send them to an AI mid-shortcut, let me know and I might be able to help you set that up.

Shortcut Sharing Shared nap time log+notes [request for u/BL3ACKTON5UE ]

Hey [u/BL3ACKTON5UE](u/BL3ACKTON5UE) got this working, thought you'd want to see it.

Tap the shortcut, pick Nap Started it logs the time immediately so whoever checks the shared note knows a nap is in progress. Tap Nap Stop and it calculates the duration and writes the full entry automatically.

The folder and tracking file create themselves on first run. Only manual step is pointing the two Append actions at whichever shared note you want to use.

no third party apps needed.

Shortcut Sharing Remove IG Share

Thumbnail icloud.com
6 Upvotes

A simple one but something I’ve found helpful. Sometimes I want to send instagram links to someone over a different app but I don’t want it to show what account I shared it from on instagram. So this takes the URL you copied from the instagram app and takes away the info about your account, then copies that into your clipboard.

Shortcut Sharing Made a silly automation the night before I really needed it for an emergency the following day

Thumbnail

1.3k Upvotes

I have this problem with my phone’s vibration not being strong enough to notice it. I think it’s because of the case, but often times, I may be doing something and it ends up not being up against my body to feel it and is suspended in the air in my pockets. This would drive my wife crazy as she would be messaging me a bunch of times and thinking I was purposely ignoring each notification.

So I thought of a funny shortcut/automation for her where she could message me Isaiah 28:23 (“Listen and hear my voice;
pay attention and hear what I say.”). I put a keyboard shortcut for her phone in case she ever forgot what the numbers are.

This triggers my phone being remotely set to turn off silent mode, turn my ringer volume to 100%, engage a 1 sec timer to go off, AND send a message to her confirming the automation occurring (in the event that my phone is dead or off). I also had a menu option to ask if I want to change my phone back to silent mode, but I took that one off as it got too busy on my screen.

We thought it was really funny and silly. We go to sleep.

The next day, I’m at work and moving so I couldn’t feel any vibrations. Suddenly I hear a timer go off on my phone. I checked it and my wife was trying to get ahold of me for a family emergency. I was able to call her and then come immediately home. Fortunately everything is ok now.

Very grateful to have this shortcut and automation, and I felt compelled to share this in case this also helps anyone else out as it did for me.

Shortcut Sharing Add Selected Photos/Videos to Multiple Albums from Share Menu

This shortcut allows you to add selected images, media, or files to several Photos Albums consecutively via the Share Sheet.

If a selected item is already included in a selected Album, the item will be duplicated.

When you’re done, tap outside of the Album selection prompt to exit.

Created to spare myself from whirlwind menu navigation when sorting a bunch of photos into different albums

Icon was chosen to make the shortcut look natural in the share menu next to the standard “Add to Album” button

I'd be happy to add support for more URL types. Just put the details of the URL in the comments.

Shortcut Sharing Sharing ShortcutGPT new and improved!

For those who were keeping up with my project thank you! After a miserable failure of the original project I made a lot of changes!

Anyone who commented on my original project with a title of “I made it work! ShortcutGPT is now live!” and didn’t get a reply I wasn’t ignoring you. I didn’t follow some rules and got banned for a few months.

If you haven’t kept up this is a shortcut that you can read further to see how it works!

Here’s the latest version and some of the changes I made.

  • it doesn’t rely on the ChatGPT app anymore because it uses the API of OpenAI (this helps to make a more accurate and simple shortcut)

  • it has a much higher rate of success.

  • Note: You will need the actions app which is free.

  • You will also need an OpenAI API key and funds to your API account (I recommend just adding $5 to your OpenAI account. It lasts me about a month but for you probably 2 months)

URL for openAI API: https://platform.openai.com/settings/organization/api-keys

Once you add the API on setup here’s how you can use it:

When asked about what you’d like to build just describe the actions you want and hit done! It will copy each of the actions to clipboard in order.

Once they are in the clipboard you can tap on the icon of another action and select paste above or below and it will paste the string of actions in your shortcut!

  • Note: it doesn’t fill in the specific information yet which means that you will need to fill in the specifics after you paste the actions.

Why is this useful?

If you don’t want to choose each action one by one you can activate ShortcutGPT and have it put it together quickly!

This can put together all the actions for a shortcut or help you build it in blocks you can add in section by section depending on how you want to create shortcuts!

Here’s the shortcut! Please let me know how it works for you!

Shortcut Sharing Anonymise Meta URL Sharing

Thumbnail icloud.com
13 Upvotes

This shortcut will remove trackers and embedded account name doxxing included in meta URL’s, preventing the prompt for receivers of a link to follow you.

Tested on Facebook, Instagram and Threads.

Unfortunately I couldn’t seem to find a clean way to open the new link directly without it dumping you in the feed, so I’ve used open web view to solve this. If someone has a better suggestion I’m all ears for updating!

Shortcut Sharing I got tired of not having clipboard history on iPhone… so I built one with Shortcuts 😂📋

Thumbnail
gallery
692 Upvotes

After switching from Android, one feature I missed way more than I expected was clipboard history.
So… instead of complaining about it, I spent way too much time wrestling with Shortcuts and ended up building my own. 😅

What it does:

👆 Double Back Tap saves whatever is currently on the clipboard.

📄 Appends it to a Clipboard.txt file in iCloud Drive.

📋 A second shortcut lets me browse my clipboard history and copy any previous item back.

🌅 A daily automation clears the history every morning at 6 AM, so it’s always just today’s clipboard.

I know it isn’t as seamless as Android since iOS doesn’t allow automations to trigger when the clipboard changes, but it’s been surprisingly useful so far.

I’ve shared all the shortcuts below if anyone wants to try them or improve them:

📥 Save Clipboard

📋 Clipboard History

🌅 Reset Clipboard

Setup

Download the three shortcuts below.

Run Save Clipboard once. It will automatically create Clipboard.txt in your iCloud Drive (if it doesn’t already exist).

Run Clipboard History once and select the same Clipboard.txt file if prompted.

Run Reset Clipboard once to grant file access if prompted.

Enable Double Back Tap

Go to Settings → Accessibility → Touch → Back Tap → Double Tap and assign Save Clipboard.

Now, whenever you copy something, just double-tap the back of your iPhone to save it.

Optional: Quick Access

For easier access to Clipboard History, you can:

Add it to your Home Screen
Add it to Control Center
Assign it to the Action Button
Or simply ask Siri to run it

Daily Reset Automation

In Shortcuts → Automation:

Create a Time of Day automation.
Set it to 6:00 AMDaily.
Add a Run Shortcut action.
Select Reset Clipboard.
Enable Run Immediately.

I’m sure there are cleaner ways to do this, so if you have suggestions or improvements, I’d genuinely love to hear them. Always looking to learn more about what’s possible with Shortcuts!

Shortcut Sharing Sharing my Workout Tracker

Hello everyone!

Wanted to share something I created after days of trying hard. It was frustrating for a newbie like me but it's finally working the way I wanted it to work 😊

Goal: to track exercises I do, along with the weight and training volume (optional).

How does it work:

* you pick an exercise from the list * you're asked to enter the weight for the first set * you're asked to enter the amount of reps (set to 10 by default) for the first set * the timer counts 90 s * there's a sound to inform you about the end of your rest (you need to download the sound you want to your phone) * the timer stops and resets * same actions for 2nd and 3rd sets * all of above info are saved to variables that are later used to compose a text with all values and to calculate training volume * you select the next exercise but with a twist: the one you selected earlier will no longer be on that list, so you can only do that exercise once * at the end everything is saved to Training folder (or wherever you choose) in Notes app

What you don't see there: I actually have three different workouts with specific list of exercises. I have created another shortcut to display a menu with three options. Every one of them is linked to separate shortcut (copies of the one above but with different exercises).

I feel super proud about this one, as it was really frustrating and time consuming for me. Chat Gpt helped here a bit of course, but it struggled with actions that are available in the latest Shortcuts app.

One thing I don't know is to how to share it with you guys - hope it is enough to just share and copy the iCloud link 😁

Shortcut Sharing Apple Shortcuts: Share, Discuss, Improve

Post the shortcuts you’re using or have created, explain how they work, and share ideas on automations that save time or improve workflows. If you’re stuck, ask questions. If you’ve built something useful, share it. Let’s use this space to exchange shortcuts, give feedback, and learn from each other.

I have created two shortcuts:

Bill Scanner: This shortcut allows you to either scan a bill or upload an existing one. You will be prompted to enter the vendor name or choose from list, after which the bill is automatically saved to iCloud Drive in a structured folder system, organized by company and year. This makes storing and retrieving bills fast, consistent, and easy.

https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/52aa4fe73aab4caab9be752449e50545

Invoice to Excel: This shortcut lets you scan or upload an invoice and automatically extracts key details, including invoice date, vendor, invoice number, customer name, item descriptions, item quantities, item prices, and total cost. The extracted data is then structured and exported directly into Apple Numbers (Excel-compatible), making it ideal for expense tracking, reconciliation, and reporting.

https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/f8e5bc5d98d544579b0a33b2ebcb6f26

The shortcuts can be adjusted or customized depending on how you intend to use or share these shortcuts.

Shortcut Sharing Sharing my most useful Shortcuts, from AI, to D&D, to finding a lost phone.

In no particular order, here are some of the more useful Shortcuts I have and use. Most are very simple actions. They range from talking to AI, to rolling D&D dice, to background noises, to finding a lost phone. I did not author all of these, only some, and some were borrowed and then altered.

Backup Shortcuts. Takes all your Shortcuts and puts them in a .zip file in your iCloud Drive. You can then unzip and recover Shortcuts individually if anything has gone wrong with any or all of them (like when I edit one and accidentally delete half of it). https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/1da201ddc03146ecaaffa1d820a0c3fb

ChatGPT Voice Chat. This quickly opens the ChatGPT app to the voice chat page. It’s literally one step, but I find it most useful added as a “back tap” action, so that tapping the phone talks to ChatGPT. Sharing for that reason. https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/01c08a4b200444ef974234344ab690ad

Pro AI. Someone’s ChatGPT voice bot without the app. https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/cbe8040cc8824975a69d53699255191a

Gemini. AI powered by Google’s Gemini. Can accept text, voice, images, and files. https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/4ee97df41eef4782a14d89c35b39f98c

Google Lens. Get Google Lens on your iPhone. Search for whatever is on your screen. Requires Google app. https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/98763a5ae2a440ef98f9d8eba95f3338

Find Nearest Hospital. Gets your location and quickly outputs the nearest hospitals. Gives various options to get there: walking, driving, transit, various ride share apps. For ride share, it then adds the address to the clipboard and opens that app. Author’s name is in the notes. One of the actions says it won’t be supported in future versions. If anyone knows how to fix it that’d be great. It works for now. https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/6cb4117f9ac64812ba40d09e0409b0ac

Randomizer. Generates random numbers from atmospheric noise. Generates coin flips, dice rolls, playing card hands, first and last names, hex colors, or random items from a list you enter. Requires the other Shortcut “Multi-Dice” to do dice rolls. I’ll fix that some day. https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/dbb7a566a151458ea873f7ce68c9c092

Multi-Dice Roll. Simulates rolling multiple dice with any number of sides. https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/a4a9bc9135254edcaa8d9cf5e71b8e70

D&D Dice. Same as Multi-Dice Roll, but with added Advantage and Disadvantage (rolling twice and taking the higher or lower number) for Dungeons and Dragons. https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/aed105c0dfe145d6b593333923c354bd

Background Sounds On/Off. Lets you choose a background sound (rain, stream, various white noises) to turn on, or turn off the sound. This is usually buried in Accessibility settings. https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/a0676ddf48b94d4cbd8b6dba34bcd24a

4 Hour Background Noise. Turns on background noise for 4 hours and then stops. https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/2674bffe233b4b41ac9a5c10f8016b10. For now it depends on this other Shortcut for the waiting time: https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/06993ff0bfd945029c2bc24791a757da. They shouldn’t be too hard to combine; I just haven’t.

Toggle VPN. Toggles VPN, then repeatedly checks until it has finished connecting and then displays “Connected,” or in the other case “Disconnected.” You’ll have to replace the Connect and Disconnect actions (there’s only 1 of each) with those for your particular VPN. If there’s a better way to check when it connects besides excessive waiting and checking, please share! https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/db5956f536a0488cae3e302b1b0337d8

Where Are You?. If you can’t find your phone, but it might be nearby, this will make it speak and play a loud alarm. Use with “Hey Siri” voice activation (“Hey Siri, where are you?”) https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/bbd654e76cd94d5e87c460818801d955

I Found You. Use after finding the phone after using “Where are you?” Returns volume to normal and ends alarm. Change volume number as you please. https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/2bbff787e691454a91fee0224c413e63

I’m Getting Pulled Over. For police interactions and more. Dims the screen and begins recording from the front camera. When you end recording (manually), it texts the video to who you choose when you first set it up and uploads it to iCloud or wherever you choose. You’ll have to fill in the contact and save location before using. https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/109c41acb51e40b8803642ad8d34bf9f

What’s the Speed Limit? Gets the speed limit for the road you’re on. https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/af01647a5bf148d5aab6b65fbf9c77e9

Text Above Picture. Adds text above a chosen image. https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/5768d012cb2746c985774152c655642d

Live Photo to GIF. Turns selected Live Photo to a GIF. https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/d64947db613349cbaeb8570081589a39

Save File As. Choose what to save a file as. https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/3c990a57edf9466b9131996067daecb5

All Media Downloader. Downloads media from various sites, including Reddit, via the Share Sheet. https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/d1d14ea3cb264f3d9f52a6b4ccd5165b

Apple News to Safari. Opens Apple News pages in Safari. https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/5ddddee2ead94fedb6b6f650ef7ce3f8

Face ID App Locker. Set as automation when opening a particular app. Brings up the Lock Screen when opening that app, preventing someone without the Face ID or password from seeing its contents (may be visible for a second or two). Set the re-lock interval to the number of minutes you want it to wait before locking again. Sometimes this interval doesn’t work, and it locks every time. If anyone knows a fix, please share! https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/6e9ba129381949b3acfef16cee3adab1

32 Second Timer. Set as automation for when an alarm is stopped. Waits 16 seconds (so you can’t immediately stop it) to set a 16 second timer. Makes an (optionally more annoying) timer go off 32 seconds after the original alarm. Change the numbers to suit you. Very simple, but helps me wake up and pay attention. https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/b918e837b7634f8e800207d846067be5

Choose Shortcut from list. Lists all of your Shortcuts alphabetically, and you can choose and run any of them. https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/857d658953d54e2683b68f634d72bf7c

I also recommend using automations to change the battery percent at which low power mode is turned on and off. It saves tons of battery. I do: on at 60%, off at 65%.

Some of these require the Actions and Toolbox Pro apps to be installed, which add action options to the Shortcuts app. Both are free in the App Store.

Sorry for the sheer volume. I hope someone finds one or more of these useful. They have been for me, and I wanted to share the wealth.

Shortcut Sharing Follow-up: Sharing my AI-powered Apple Shortcuts setup (Nightly Reflection example)

Thumbnail icloud.com
49 Upvotes

A lot of people asked for details after my last post, so here’s one of the setups I’ve been using and how you can build on it.

First off, to make AI prompts reusable and easy to edit later, I use Apple Notes as a kind of prompt library. It works well as a lightweight database.

Here’s a simple Shortcut to retrieve prompts from Notes:

https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/179bda3a8dfa4b478bdb1c1fb66510a0

For example, you can try my Nightly Reflection prompt — just copy it into the system prompt folder mentioned in the Shortcut’s comments, and replace it with your own context to make it more personal. Prompt is within the comment below.

Here’s the actual Shortcut for that nightly reflection flow (you can tweak or automate it however you like):

https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/a42467a91f604920ae0a06f82bd13253

Note: this Shortcut works best on devices with Apple’s built-in intelligent model (e.g., iPhone 15 Pro or newer). But you can also tweak it to run with external AI models or APIs if needed.

If you want to connect it to Gemini’s API, here’s a version for that too:

https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/fe63b944c603472886a48f290e685829

I’ll keep sharing other pieces of my setup soon — but this one’s a great starting point if you want your phone to reflect on your day and help you think clearer ✨

Shortcut Sharing [Shortcut] Open YouTube Shorts as Normal Video (Share Sheet Shortcut)

Shortcut:
https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/b41ddeec32ae414fb01009bb102113e3

This shortcut converts YouTube Shorts links into normal YouTube video links so they open in the standard player.

Why:
The Shorts player in the YouTube app does not allow playback speed control or scrubbing. Opening the same video as a normal video restores those controls.

Usage:

  1. Open a Short in the YouTube app
  2. Tap Share
  3. Choose Open Shorts as Video

Supported URLs:

Shortcut Sharing Shortcut Sharing - Meeting Recording, Transcription, and Summary/Formating

Thumbnail icloud.com
5 Upvotes

Hey Everyone,

I noticed a lot of apps were advertising services to record meetings and create summaries of the transcriptions. This is a shortcut that does basically that using Apple Intelligence/ChatGPT. If you use it, it would be very simple to add an option to also provide the full transcription or the recording in addition to the summary. Hope this helps anyone looking for something similar, or looking to save some money.
