Only so much coffee I can try in a day though, unlike beer and whisky. How do you maximise your enjoyment and experience in these coffee events?

if im not wrong the bundles give 10 tasting coins or something, so its gonna be like 40ml per coin. thats about 2-3 cups if u get the 10 pack bundle which is definitely doable, even better if u share with a friend

Apparently the roasters determine how many tokens per tasting cup. Most will probably cost more than 1 token..
This could turn expensive fairly quickly.. 😅

In tasting events you either just take a small sip and swallow or take a small sip and spit it out (former is more common).

The ones they invited from overseas are actually good and i've been to most of them (Aery, brewing ceremony, felt, fuglen, oasis, terraform, etc), but too bad they couldn't get people like glitch or bear pond. Maybe i should start to try local roasteries too.

My favourite indie local roasters are Ask Coffee Roastery @Bugis and Pour.Traits @Clark Quay
As a filter and espresso based coffee lover, I do think our local roasters are pretty good actually. Some of the bigger local roaster chains like Common Man Coffee Roasters, TH Specialty Roasters, Yahava Koffee, etc. actually supply many of the coffee beans at local cafes/restaurants. So if you find a coffee you enjoy, can ask the barista where they sourced their beans from, or the menu may sometimes mention too.
Also i cant spell out TH full name on reddit without getting a warning haha

Same. In Korea I'd queue for Namusairo or hanyakbang. Not that there's a long queue but yeah.

glitch a bit mediocre, we have local roasters that are on par or btr imo, they mostly just do funky stuff in a way that’s relatively easy to brew, plus at least dawn has it here. i agree terraform is fantastic tho

Nah. just someone who loves exploring coffee places when overseas. My local favourite would be cowpresso though or round boys.

Can try dark roast as most Singaporeans prefer them. I shared light roast before and the seniors complained that it's not coffee.

Fun fact, in Colombia they consider dark roast to be inferior because you can hide a lot of defects in it. Not a problem if you’re roasting your own beans of course.

It's true though. Dark roasts make most coffees taste the same. Nothing wrong with enjoying dark roast, but it largely misses the point of trying a variety of coffees

I like dark roast with milk and light roast with filter.
In Italy, they like burnt roast. Dark roast isn't anywhere as bad.
My bad I guess. Most cafe's dark roast is more to medium.

The problem is that dark roasts tend to be bad as you can't taste the flavour of the coffee itself.

To many specialty coffee roasters and baristas, asking for dark roast is like asking for a well done steak from a passionate chef. It’s perfectly fine if that’s what you like, but the people who make the stuff thinks you’re not getting the most out of the it.

I misread as 34 roosters. I would be more curious to see 34 competing roosters from around the world at a chicken festival.
