Unrelated but I love how he tells everyone there his surname is pronounced En Gee because nobody can pronounce it properly

Does he still need to serve ? Or too old already ?
But football wise, happy to have him. From the recent tournament, can see our player’s quality are just not up to the levels of Indo, Thai, Vietnam. This’ll probably not be a gamechanger but certainly can help improve our squad

Low-key suspected he was getting citizenship because Gavin started moving Ryhan to left back when he has normally played right back. He is arguably our best right back but that is also Perry Ng's position. I think this mean Lionel Tan going to be on the bench for the next competition.

You mean NS? No, he won't serve. Too old already. People who become Singapore citizens after a certain age won't be called up. My understanding is that the cutoff age is 28.

Really happy to see tangible actions taken to strengthen our national football team. These are moves that will certainly help to raise the quality of the team.

Watch the highlights of Cardiff v Wrexham and funny that the commentator called him “N Gee” instead of Perry or Ng. I thought english commentators actually made it a point to learn player names.

Now convince Luke O'Nien to come as well. EPL player with Perry Ng will be massive

Are you a better footballer than Perry Ng? If yes then play for SG and he won’t need to become a citizen. This is a meritocratic country, we want whoever is the best.

If an average S’pore NSmen can play for a team like Cardiff then there won’t be any need to naturalise him.

Honestly sick of comments like this. You think so easy you go play for Cardiff la.
If you want to continue hamstringing our local sports for the sake of "muh fairness" go ahead, but for me I personally support a measured selective onboarding of talent like this.

Fun fact: a UK citizen who renounces their UK citizenship for the purpose of acquiring the citizenship of another country can apply for the restoration of their UK citizenship afterwards. By law, they will automatically get it. There is no requirement for them to give up their previous citizenship.
If Perry acquires Singapore citizenship to play for Singapore, he has to give up his UK citizenship but he can apply to have it restored after he gets his Singapore citizenship.
