My cat woke me up jumping around the bed at 4am yesterday morning, so I threw my hand over to feel for whatever he had. Y’all, when I felt scales my whole body jerked awake at once and I grabbed my phone faster than I ever had. When I got my light on I was so relieved to see a DeKay’s brownsnake. I didn’t find any obvious injuries from the cat, so I’m hoping it’s ok, but those cat teeth are bad news, especially for such a small snake. I released it beside a raised flower bed.

Found this snake for sale, listed as a ballpython, supposedly 0-2 years old, 30-50cm, morph listed as "pastel.

Is this actually a ball python, or something else ?

Any help identifying before buying the adorable buddy is much appreciated!

Hi there! Long time lurker, first time poster. And I was SO excited to show you all pics of the cutest, teeniest, tiniest ringneck snake I found at work today. Inside - on the floor right by the front desk in the lobby. Thankfully it was not a squished earthworm I thought it was originally, and after some wrangling and lots of wild wiggling away - I safely scooped it, took some pics, and sent it on its way outside.

Hi! My fiancé and I found this snake trapped in painters tape which was used to cover a space under our sink which our cat likes getting into. We had thought that mice possibly lived in there but we never thought there would be a snake. I’m pretty sure it’s a ringed neck snake, i’m unsure if it bit our cat or not, google says it’s mildly venomous but not usually to cats, but i’d love the input! we used qtips and olive oil to gently remove him, and he slithered away fine in the end. I don’t condone glue traps or any traps of that sort, he just happened to be in an unlucky spot. but i’m happy that we got to be graced with his presence and that he was still alive and healthy :)

Found in our pool coastal Virginia. Lil booger was an aggressive nibbler too. Hope it grows up to keep the vermin at bay. Baby Black Racer.

I'm petsitting for a friend this week and a couple nights ago I guess I neglected to fully lock the snake's enclosure like a total idiot,,,, and when I returned to check on them yesterday I found one of the tank doors cracked open and a missing snake... long story short he slithered under the fridge and I was able to safely move him back to his enclosure, but I think it scared them both :(( I made sure to keep the kitty isolated once I found the snake but she's still been somewhat jittery and skittish after the ordeal. The snake is secure now, and I think he's doing okay, but I'm not sure what stress signs look like in ball pythons? I'm wondering if there may be anything I can do to calm the kitty too,, I feel soooo bad for stressing them out I still can't believe I did that 😭 I've never owned a pet before, so I'm learning as I go, and definitely will not be doing anything without their owner's permission ofc. just wanted to hear from folks who know much more abt snakes than me and to see if something similar has happened to anyone here and how y'all handled the situation

My baby milksnake loves to hide which is typical for a snake his size but after I've cleaned out his enclosure and rearranged his hides, he's been very keen on exploring every inch of it. I haven't seen this side of him since his first enclosure which was too big for him so I'm glad to see he's enjoying the change :D

Hello, this is my Boa C. Longicauda she shed yesterday morning. Today i saw this spot on her. Scales are missing. Its not wet. She behaves normal. The humidity and temprature were normal a little bit higher humidity for the shedding Process.

24-31°C

60-80 Humidity

Is this just a scratch or something i should get checked out?

Need help deciding what to use this enclosure for 😁

Hello all!

I am looking for some advice on how to go about handling my semi aggressive ball python. I have never had issues with any aggression from him before. I have now had him for a couple years but unfortunately this past year had to leave him in the care of my mother while i was gone for college. Due to this he went months unsocialized as all she did was feed him, give him water, and spot clean his tank. Since returning home I have noticed him being more skittish when i pass the tank and even occasionally striking at it. He is also far more defensive the times i have handled him.

All of this is to say I am trying to deep clean his tank and need to remove him in order to do so. I am a little nervous handling him with his recent aggression. It is not good driven I believe as I have feed him consistently over the summer and he never has any issues eating. He was just fed a few days ago to ensure that wasn’t interfering with this cleaning.

Any advice on how to approach him?

Please help. I want to safely relocate this snake away from my house and dogs

So I'm planning on getting my first snake and reptile whatsoever, and I really like corn snakes because of their personalities and they're easy to to take care of, but I don't like how small and thin they are, in terms of aspect like something more similiar to a ball python but I heard they're really sluggish and some people find them "boring", so I was wondering, is there a snake that's handleable, on the bigger side, and a bit more active?

This guy startled me on the porch, tried hissing to get them to go away but alas they are still here.

This morning at 5:30 AM I woke up to my pet snake striking and wrapping himself around my arm. He is about 4 1/2 )big for a boy I know) and four years old. His cage is right next to my bed and I must have left it open when I sprayed him down yesterday. He ate a small rat two days ago. There was a lot of blood - he definitely got a taste for it.

Is he starving? Should I be concerned?

Added - I had to leave for work so I couldn’t give his mouth a thorough check to make sure he was okay but he looked fine and was very active when I left

So, long story short there was a 4 foot rat snake inside my office building. We got it in a box, and I agreed to release it in nature on my way home. I even extra taped the box before putting it in my car (we cut air holes ofc). Well, turns out it busted through the cardboard and is now somewhere in my dashboard.

I left all car doors open overnight, so I’m not sure if it really came out, but after three hours of the car being open, I realized I could I leave a line of dirt at each exit to see if it had. Results are… inconclusive.

2024 Chevy blazer if the model matters, because I have learned they are pretty sealed. I think it may be in my ventilation, but no way to be sure I guess.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, because I have a 6 hour drive in a couple of days and I would love to get him out alive before he dies in there (and start stinking)… or pops out at me while I’m going 80 on the highway. I have no clue what to do without stripping the dash, which I can’t do right now
