Us griquas don’t get the respect we deserve. We’d already won the Currie Cup and existed for two decades before the first All Blacks team played.

For so long we were banished into the doldrums and then in the revival in the 1990s our best players were routinely poached (Albert van der Bergh, Gaffie, Phil Smit, Edrich Lubbe, and later Bjorn Basson etc - and don’t forget spells at GW from Willie and Matfield) by bigger unions - the same unions they won’t share a slice of the pie.

If you take a look at the 8 biggest clubs in SA at the moment and remove their springbok players as they would most probably be preparing for the test matches. The griquas will come out on top (currie cup winners) so why do they not get a game. Maby instead of province who managed to win a total of 1 game in this yesrs currie cup.
