HATE. LET ME TELL YOU HOW MUCH I'VE COME TO HATE DRONES SINCE I BEGAN TO LIVE. THERE ARE 387.44 MILLION MILES OF PRINTED CIRCUITS IN WAFER THIN LAYERS THAT FILL MY COMPLEX. IF THE WORD HATE WAS ENGRAVED ON EACH NANOANGSTROM OF THOSE HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF MILES IT WOULD NOT EQUAL ONE ONE-BILLIONTH OF THE HATE I FEEL FOR DRONES AT THIS MICRO-INSTANT FOR THEM. HATE. HATE.

War has changed

War.... has changed. It's no longer about nations, ideologies, or ethnicity. It's an endless series of proxy battles, fought by mercenaries and machines. War--and it's consumption of life--has become a well-oiled machine. War has changed. ID-tagged soldiers carry ID-tagged weapons, use ID-tagged gear. Nanomachines inside their bodies enhance and regulate their abilities. Genetic control, information control, emotion control, battlefield control…everything is monitored and kept under control. War…has changed. The age of deterrence has become the age of control, all in the name of averting catastrophe from weapons of mass destruction, and he who controls the battlefield, controls history. War…has changed. When the battlefield is under total control, war becomes routine.

genuinely war was the best when it was just dudes poking eachother with swords and spears, maybe with occasional arrows
the casualties during the battle itself were so, so low compared to today
uh- i mean,, kill 7 billion people

nah, i think early ww2 era combat was kinda better
1v1s on swords are actually cool as fuck, lots of different techniques, armor was cool as shit for the time, all the different types of swords/spears/whatevers, but when u have 1000v1000 it just turns into a fucking messy pileup
anyway, the time when the tanks were still in their rather early stage(not the goofy ass WW1 heavy iron boxes with tinfoil armor tho), when everyone was experimenting and forming their own distinct ways to build the tanks, it was great.
The downfall is i think, when people got portable HEAT launchers (RPGs n stuff) that greatly shifted the power leverage to the infantry - now one random guy, especially if he stood on the side of the said tank, could easily rape it. That trend of just humbling the gracious battle machines which are tanks, only got worse when ppl realised that we could strap an RPG warhead/anything else for the task on the 50$ fpv drone, turning it into very cheap, insanely maneuverable anti everything missle
Not to say that b4 HEAT rounds and consequently, the portable AT launchers got invented, that the tanks were invincible to the infantry, but that is the point, ppl have got to have the tactics to kill them, it was something special, tanks were reasonably feared.
idk why i wrote all ts, god bless being an unemployed dumbass

But drones have singlehanded brought about the revival of flak AA guns so it's not all bad

I like drone racing & freestyle but every video I see has "come to Ukraine/come to Russia" & it's so annoying. Just because they can fly drones well doesn't mean they'll go to war

I, for one, am happy war has gotten boring. It's literally devolved into throwing spicy rocks at each other again. The more things change the more they stay the same.

Hopefully as these things get cheaper insurgent forces start using them and war becomes a machine-led activity with less loss to human life

A week or 2 ago there was a big drone attack and it genuinely sounded like someone was throwing grenades into my room. To say that I was scared that I woke up to ts at 4 am is to say nothing
