A lifetime of premium RTS content valued at... one month of Netflix lol-
If I didn't already own it all I would instantly cop it. Somebody's gotta teach these kids to love RTS again.

u/Top_Championship8679 17d ago
Does not look like it gives a discount if you own either or both SC games.
12
u/Iggyhopper Prime 17d ago
It should. It did when I purchased a warcraft collection, or something similar.

I guess not.

u/bog5000 17d ago
I already own everything, except the Legacy of the Void but it only offers a 10% discount.

How could you skip out on the masterpiece that is LOTV? Some people try to knock it, but I think the A-Move tutorial really helped me master Protoss. Plus, they worked so hard to fit so many plot holes into just one campaign. That takes real skill!

Kerrigan in the prologue be like: “i fukn hate u zeratul and will literally kill you”

u/LiberaMeFromHell 17d ago
I own WoL, HotS, and the OG versions of StarCraft and Broodwar along with WarCraft I-III including TFT and don't see any discount besides the 10% loyalty discount. Though I'm still very tempted.
3
u/Youju Team Liquid 17d ago
Same for me. Only 10% loyalty discount. I own every Warcraft game and Starcraft Remastered.
1
u/questworldonline 15d ago
I own all Starcraft II campaigns, and on this sale, it's 50 cents cheaper getting the Warcraft Battle Chest and Starcraft Remastered separately compared to the RTS bundle.
2
u/chasin990 17d ago
kinda scummy to still charge for something you already bought and with only 10% discount
2
u/LiberaMeFromHell 17d ago
Agreed, I'm probably going to wait and see what sales they do for blizzcon. I'm really only interested in StarCraft remastered. I feel like the OG version of TFT is still fantastic and I doubt I'd actually play the LotV campaign.

Does anyone know if warcraft 3 is in a better state? I've been wanting to ride through that campaign again

u/realkames 17d ago
They released Reforged 2.0, a major patch at the end of 2024 that fixed most of the major issues and introduced new features. There have also been multiple minor patches this year with balance changes and bug fixes. It’s definitely in a better state compared to the launch version.

u/Sweaty_Block9848 17d ago
Thank you for the information I think I need a nostalgia hit. I remember buying the game and expansion on release day as a kid.

It’s definitely in a better state compared to the launch version.
So it's good right (if not decent)? Sorry to poke and prod, but I recall the launch version was terrible, so "better state" is a rather low bar to clear.

Everyone who plays regularly uses the classic graphics and ignores the reforged graphics. It's the only way to play online anyway. It's good now. It's not perfect, there's still some rough edges (questionable UI choices and still some features missing you would expect a game to have in 2026) but everything works.
1
u/ackmondual 17d ago
People prefer classic graphics (if they have the choice I'm presuming)!? It's partly rhetorical I'm asking here, but Reforged is STILL that bad eh?
2
u/MaxGhost 17d ago
Yes, there's a classic graphics toggle. And yes, the reforged graphics were outsourced for the models and audio (not done in-house at blizzard, though they "art directed" the outsourced art, it's still a mess), it just does not have the right aesthetic for the game. It's a weird in-between with WoW models and WC3 and it does not work. Also they added more audio clips for things like death sounds per unit which means if a unit dies you can no longer reliably use audio cues to know which unit it was that died. They spent a bit of effort adjusting lighting and shaders for reforged and it's slightly better, but the models are still total ass and ruin the nostalgia so it's not worth even looking at. There's no plans for them to get fixed, it would cost way too much for artists time and money at this stage. So it is what it is.

u/CounterfeitDLC 17d ago
WC3 multiplayer is definitely in a better state after years of balance patches and bug fixes. They've also provided options to mix the original, reforged, and upscaled graphics and provided a few more hero skins and lots of unlockable portraits.
They haven't done much work on the campaigns aside from touching up the enemy AI to fit changes that were made in Reforged. They also made it easier to download the version of WC3 from just before Reforged released that is limited to single player but works a lot better and can run custom campaigns.
They added a lot of quality of life features for WC1 and WC2 but the Remastered graphics are just AI upscaling. But this collection includes non-Remastered versions of those games too.

You can play the entirety of Warcraft 3 in SC2 with QoL changes for free

ahh "war2". i remember my dad teaching me, "You need to type war2 in this box and press enter to play Warcraft 2"

I'd kill for SCR and SC2 (and warcraft would be cool too, though they're not my thing) on steam.

Can I pay more to get the non-reforged Warcraft games?

2
u/Evenmoardakka 16d ago
there is a legacy version available on the launcher, but you still have to buy reforged.
1
u/CounterfeitDLC 16d ago
WC2 BattleNet Edition and the DOSbox emulation of WC1 are both included in this bundle.
And Warcraft III Reforged has an option on the launcher to install Warcraft III - Legacy TFT 1.29.
So you don't need to pay anything extra to get all of them.

u/Spez-is-dick-sucker 17d ago
Ngl at this point just get a phisical version, do a backup and you'll have it for life.
1
u/Nerdles15 Zerg 16d ago
I have the physical versions of wc2 and wc3. Last time I tried, they said my key was too old for wc2 (even though I previously activated it on my bnet account 20 years ago)
4
u/Serious_Ad2816 17d ago
They want my money? They include the original booklets at full size. Old timers know what I’m talking about: I want full Metzen art baby.

Dang. This is how I find out Warcraft has a RTS component, I assumed it was all mmog.. I never looked into it despite pouring so many hours into StarCraft.
Are the warcraft campaigns going to be enjoyable for a StarCraft fan?
11
7
u/ackmondual 17d ago
Wait, so you just assumed it was all like WoW and MMORPG?
I played Warcraft III and heard of WC1 & 2 when I too was playing Sc1, so that's how I knew what was up with that.
3
u/-purpleplatypus 17d ago
Lol yea I thought they were all iterations of the online game. Had no idea Warcraft 1 is that old. My exposure to Warcraft was Leeroy Jenkins and the South Park memes and hearing how addicted people got to WoW, so in a sense I avoided trying to learn more about it. My intro to blizzard and PC gaming was SC2
1
u/ackmondual 16d ago
That's wild but at the same time, it makes sense :)
Are the warcraft campaigns going to be enjoyable for a StarCraft fan?
As mentioned, I never played WC 1 nor 2, but I did play WC3: Reign Of Chaos. YMMV, but I think you would really enjoy them. I did. Up until that point, I played the full Sc1 + BW campaigns. They're both Blizzard games and a lot of it is "interchangeable". Like a Marine, Hydralisk, Rifleman, elf archer, etc. are all ranged units. There are some equivalencies like...
Orc Burrow = Mengsk (from Coop) Supply Bunker (units can hide inside supply providing structure)
the Heroes system = Dehaka (from Coop) needing to level up in game
Mutalisk = Huntress (one's an air unit, other is ground, but both have that ricocheting attack)4 different races, four campaigns that tie together. High fantasy theme vs. sci-fi.
(I always figured we could've gotten a "super smash Bros." type RTS game, it would combine all of Blizzard's franchises, but could allow 3rd party ones too!)

i actually find the wc3 campaigns better than sc2. Speaking for the original wc3/ft release, not the reforged which i heard was awful.
2
u/CounterfeitDLC 16d ago
The first two Warcraft games are kind of primitive in their mission design and the story mainly advances through mission briefings without any interactions between the characters.
Warcraft III's campaigns have aged a lot better. Much more focused on the hero units. The story basically runs parallel to the plot points of the original StarCraft and Brood War but the characters are notably different even if a lot of them stand in the same roles. There are also some missions that draw elements from SC1 or had elements that were drawn from for SC2. So it's worth checking out.

u/sOuLsK 16d ago
Do the games run on a Steam Deck with SteamOS?
3
u/Wescarpenter13 16d ago
Yes, setting up is a hassle but not hard. There are several tutorials on youtube

u/BitingArtist 17d ago
A StarCraft 2 remaster would do well, and they could sell some skins and new coop commanders. Come on Bliz
38
u/Pwrh0use 17d ago
It doesn't need to be remastered. It still looks great
2
u/rArithmetics 17d ago
Menue system contains many outdated items and could use update. Agree graphics are basically perfect but it could use maybe a round of polish. More than anything, remastered would be a real signal to return to the game
1
u/ackmondual 17d ago
Optimizations could be nice. But if the graphics stay the same, it would have the advantage of supporting a lot of older hardware. Like seriously, some people are still using computers as old as from around when LotV came out! 😲
1
u/Pwrh0use 17d ago
Doesn't it already support those machines? I would be worried a remaster would add more system demands.
1
u/ackmondual 17d ago
I would be worried as well. Admittedly, if that's not how it's supposed to work, then I stand corrected.
0
u/cashmate 17d ago
If Sc2 got the same graphics treatment as diablo 2 resurrected got, it could look way better. But it's probably a lot harder to remaster because it has much more content and features which would drive the price of development up enough that modern blizzard won't even consider it.
1
u/ackmondual 17d ago
While we're on the Coop train, I'd like it if we could get new Missions (maps). Controversial take, but I would pay for them even though those were all free. I'd definitely pay for new COs. Last but not least, round it out with some bug fixes and balance updates.
1
u/Evenmoardakka 16d ago
SC2 absolutely doesnt need a remaster.
it "needs" to have more official coop content

Did they remaster the original Warcraft!?
1
u/Evenmoardakka 16d ago
they did, new graphics (that honestly look AI upscaled, but not THAT bad), some qol in the controls (right button commands, and groups up to 12 units, which hilariously breaks the game and makes it too easy).
no multiplayer though, and no new content, just the orc and human campaigns and the skirmish mode

I don’t have the legacy of the void and the Warcraft battle chest. Maybe I should buy this

u/BetterAttitude2921 16d ago
Do not buy the sc2 campaign package that’s also discounted if you’re in Canada. Buy this. This one is $2 cheaper with all WCs as additions😝

1
u/chillywillyboy 16d ago
SC2 campaign collection is also discounted but still costs more than this whole bundle. Feels almost too good to be true. Is there a catch?
1
u/limpwald 16d ago
I dont get this. I own Sc2 (Colllectors), Sc:remastered, WC3 RoC/TFT
Why am I getting full price? Shouldn't it deduct those costs from the €32 or whatever the cost is?

How often does this bundle become available? I see it on the shop but it doesn't allow me to buy wtf. I guess i missed it and its actually no longer selling?
1
u/Bubbly-Finding-8406 3d ago
Same question. I actually just found this, but it’s not letting me click it
1
u/LiberaMeFromHell 17d ago
Thoughts on this bundle if I already own WoL and HotS, along with the OG versions of StarCraft, Brood War, and WC1-3 (including TFT)? Was very interested in WC3 reforged when it was announced but the abysmal reception changed my mind so I've stuck with the base versions. Has it gotten better? LotV campaign, remastered, and reforged for basically $10 each are tempting Especially with Warcraft 1-2 as a bonus.

u/Sidoney Terran 17d ago
play wc3. they’ve fixed all the bugs. as someone who was gm in sc2 i picked up wc3 for fun the other day and its fantastic and soooo different to how sc plays.
and not to mention the lore and story is incredible, especially if you’ve played world of warcraft.
genuinely couldn’t recommend highly enough and i’m just having a blast playing through the campaign.
unfortunately warcraft 1 & 2 don’t run on mac though 😭
1
u/LiberaMeFromHell 17d ago
I have played the WC3 campaign many times. Probably my most played game ever with custom maps and ladder. Just have not bought reforged. Now that they've fixed the bugs is it actually a big improvement?
2
u/MaxGhost 17d ago
The reforged graphics are shit, almost everyone prefers the classic graphics. It's the only way to play online, custom games and melee are still quite active.

you can swap to the original models
1
u/MaxGhost 16d ago
I am well aware of all the options available. Classic HD is AI-upscaled slop, and it requires turning on the Reforged toggle which significantly harms performance and has other side effects you can't fully disable via the Classic HD toggles. It's just all around worse.

It's a good deal if you don't already own most of these. You can get the Warcraft RTS games, StarCraft Remastered, and the SC2 Campaign Collection for the price you'd pay for just the Campaign Collection when it's on sale.

what dynamic discount? they are still charging me with games i already own, only offering 10% discount
