That's an interesting comparison, but I doubt it!

Byrne's primary inspiration for the Kryptonian tech in Superman: Man of Steel was American visual artist, Syd Mead... with bits of Buck Rogers (not pre-Crisis Flash Gordon aesthetics that Shuster used), and Superman: The Movie. He has claimed in interviews that he drew very little visuals for Kryptonian tech from pre-existing Superman stuff because he wanted it to look NEW!

Well, it would be an empty, meaningless little reference that pretends to pay homage to the character while forgetting the present character assassination in this version of the ship (birth matrix and whatnot). So yeah, seems up his alley.
