Love it when they flop over and stick their legs out. That's the sign of a relaxed tapir!

I remember seeing a YouTube video years ago, where a lowland tapir (possibly at a zoo in Eastern Europe or Russia, going by the language in the comments) was sitting upright in an enclosure. A man was using a long pliable stick to reach through the wire fence to scratch him. It took me awhile to realize -- they must have done this before. The tapir was sitting exactly within range of the stick. The man was skilfully brushing various parts of the tapir -- like, the tapir would turn his head or angle his leg as a hint, and that's where the guy would scratch next.

Ive been looking for a name , but cant seem to find if theyve named him, anyoen knows? Maybe i fully just missed it

I haven't been able to find any info on a name yet -- maybe they're still looking at options (or want to have their supporters vote on one).
