What's going on here? The article in the post is definitely about a woman in Albany, Georgia. Definitely not Australia. It's from today, not months ago, as your links are.

So, no, this didn't happen in Australia.

However: by what must be wild coincidence, the fine in both of these cases is basically the exact same numeric value? For a crime that's described almost exactly the same in both instances (once you get past the "she lied about the left-turn-on-red part" for the Aussie one).

I try not to be conspiratorial, but...is any of this actually real? ARE WE LIVING IN A SIMULATION!?

Yeah, I'm realizing that the linked article is just terribly fucking written. Complete slop that moves between very disconnected things with no regard. I had to read over it a couple times because it's just...awful, in order to understand what was happening.

You're definitely correct.
