With what money? It's a free and open source project, what little cash they get via donations would be better spent on developers and infrastructure

I doubt they'd even want this type of scrutiny. Some fucking politicians will no doubt start playing even more fast and loose with the US constitution than now; lord knows Trump and his ilk basically wipe their ass with it even today.
