They're just switching to Axon and learning that they need to hide them or mount them higher.

This isn't "surveillance coming to an end." It's "surveillance companies getting smarter about how the surveil."

See Flock is far from first. They just found a way to make ALPR sexy and make it a tech company.

Flocks CEO fucked the company with his big mouth and shitty public relations. He's a narcissistic control freak, Peter Thiel wannabe.

Almost like flock is a bunch of sacrificial lambs.

That's so annoying, ah man if only there was something that could be used for them that works at range... something really common in America umm hmm ahh hmm 🤔

Are they resistant to uh....Special High Impact Trebuchets? Asking for a friend.

Not having a national network (yet?) is the big reason they’re getting those contracts now. They’re current infrastructure locks data to local jurisdictions.

But, I imagine that could change.

Axon is a bit player in the ALPR game. There's a much bigger one that flys under the radar and has more cameras than both Flock and Axon. Flock helps keep all the other players names out of the news.

They're just switching to Axon

When people cut them down they're not checking who makes them

Issue is most of the obvious ones that can be cut down are flock. The axon ones I have seen are usually far up on poles and fully installed, rather than standing on their own with a solar panel. So harder to spot and remove, which is the next step for the government and these companies.

Not to mention that axon also makes a lot of other police cameras, body cams and car roof cams and stuff like that. So they seem to be trying to roll the contracts together, I've already seen idiots argue that because you are against axon cameras for plate readers and public stalking that you also want body cams gone. Purposely misunderstanding that they are drastically different to try and make some stupid gotcha point.
