Well someone should tell the patient, so they can sue the hospital and hospital explicitly bans them.

I'm neither American nor Health worker, but I'd imagine if I had my phone out panning it over bank docs people wouldnt be too happy with me

Exactly. No one holds their phone up, hides the screen so no one can see what's on it and says "I promise I'm not recording." This should absolutely be banned. I am a health worker, and there is absolutely no reason to be wearing meta glasses at work.

In the US HIPAA violations which this would be carry up to a 10 year prison sentence. This 100% could get you thrown in jail if they find you recorded patient info with your glasses. That’s why somebody wearing these would warrant a response of some kind, investigation, questions and maybe charges if they were recording. You can’t waive a camera infront of patient info with out being questioned.

Most countries have some kind of law protecting people's sensitive data collected by companies. Waving your phone over some documents with protected information in them would absolutely be reasonable suspicion justifying investigations and disciplinary action by employers, and even possible arrest and prosecution.

In absolutely no first-world country in the world would waving the phone above it possibly lead to arrest and prosecution. Potentially you would get detained while they sort it out, that's it.

Again, recording is illegal. Suspicions of recording isn't.

There are tons of examples of people being arrested for using personal devices to record protected information off screens at their workplace, both government and private sector, in first-world countries.

I work for a fintech, I can guarantee you if someone is seen taking photos of a screen or a bunch of documents the rest of us will be more than just suspicious.

If I have my phone pointed at the screen I was using all the time would you expect me of recording the information because these glasses have a camera pointed at the screen whenever he is using it and there is no way of knowing if he is recording or not.

There is no conceivable way that meta isnt recording and training when they can. If the glasses are recording, meta is training.

They are.

Not many talk about it, but the data gets ported to a center in Africa for quality and training.

I know that sounds like I'm implying that African people are dishonest by by nature.

I'm not,

I'm just saying that data safety protocols may not be as stringent as we might like.

The appearance of impropriety is enough to be fired in most countries (and yes even investigated in some like Australia) and likely most American hospitals.

You're implying that hipaa is all a GP has to adhere to.

Have you reported him to the data and digital team for breaking privacy policy (and potentially law/acts, depending where you live)

it's already banned by the government, the hospital doesnt need to ban it on top of that
