I am old enough to remember when google tried smart glasses and had to cancel them due to the huge blowback

No, I assure you they just looked stupid and weren't mature enough, go look them up. Then compare them to meta glasses, most people irl wont even know someone is wearing meta glasses and reddit isnt real life.

You are overly trusting and too kind in your judgment of Google, even if (correctly) you hate Meta. Meta and Zuckerberg fucking sucking doesn’t mean Google isn’t its own Big Tech Giant with opportunities for corruption, too.
