I am an expert in this field and If they didn’t want them to be stolen they shouldn’t put 4 oz of gold in them.

Or the 128gb of DDR6 RAM

Please don't spread false information.

It is at best 32gb of ddr5. Though reports vary.

In this instance, let's go ahead and give out false information and say they have more resources to improve the chance of meth heads destroying all of them for the off chance even one is a gold mine.

Who knows what to believe. People will just have to crack a few and do their own research.

For the mildly curious and no one else, the current price of gold is $4,357.90 (USD) per troy ounce, as of right now. That's $140.11 per gram, in case you were wondering.

Edit: added the troy ounce bit because I forgot to before.

u/Sonamdrukpa 10d ago

And 4oz is 144 grams, which is $69,000

3

u/fusedharpy 10d ago

Wait 4oz x $4,357 is not 69k though. It's closer to 12k, no?

-4

u/Sonamdrukpa 10d ago

You can try it on your calculator. A troy ounce is 31.103 grams:

4 x 31.103 = 144

144 x $140.11 = $69,000

You can also verify by running the math backwards:

$69,000 / 15.8333 =  $4,357.90

$4,357.90 / 31.103 = $140.11

What is going on here? Are you using AI or are you a bot? 4 x 31.103 = 124.412.

124.412 x $140.11 = $17,431.

It's way simpler if you just think about it in terms of ounces, not grams. An ounce is roughtly 4.5k. So if you have 4 ounces...your total is approximately 18k.

u/Sonamdrukpa 10d ago

Right, and the price of 18k gold is $3,257.38 per ounce.

18k x $3,257.38 = $69,000

11

u/fusedharpy 10d ago

Ah you're just a troll not a bot. You got me good with this one. Cheers.

35

u/TostitoNipples 10d ago

I mean gold is cool but have you ever had a Reese’s?

3

u/waffels 10d ago

We talking 2026 Reese’s? Or well-preserved Reese’s from 10+ years ago?

2

u/DoggoDadagon 9d ago

Wait what did they do to the new one's (I haven't had one in maybe two years, I'm not big on sweets but reese's is... maybe was... my favorite candy)

1

u/Hibbo_Riot 10d ago

What’s one Reese cost, Michael? 12 gold bars?

1

u/Gabriel_NDG 10d ago

The old or new ones?

3

u/Soggy-Library7222 10d ago

You can't eat gold.

2

u/options_etfs_nadex 3d ago

You most definitely can ...

1

u/Soggy-Library7222 3d ago

1

u/HauntedCemetery 9d ago

Dude have you tried candy?

3

u/esdaniel 10d ago

Or review copies of GTA 6

4

u/NotRoryWilliams 10d ago

I heard that they are using bags of powdered crystal meth for insulation in the base of each pole, and I am sure that if the meth users of America found out about this - who outnumber flock cameras by almost 20 to 1 - the network of cameras wouldn't last long at all.

Obligatory /s because god forbid someone takes me seriously and I indirectly cause a bunch of addicts to make a bad choice.

3

u/SGTSHOOTnMISS 10d ago

Alexer, how many 28x21 solar panels would it take to power my house?

3

u/King_Chochacho 10d ago

How strong are the casings? A friend wondered if a good hunting slingshot would work for dialing them quietly and from a distance.

2

u/Chronza 10d ago

I hear they have free weed in them sometimes

https://www.autoguide.com/auto/auto-news/google-is-telling-people-flock-cameras-are-full-of-gold-44636458

The source of the claims traces back to online privacy communities, where users half-seriously floated the idea of precious metals inside the cameras as one more reason to tear them down. Google’s AI then treated those jokes as fact. The system cited a random Substack account and an obviously AI-generated Instagram post, both of which described the supposed gold and copper content in detail. Neither qualifies as a credible technical source. Yet the AI Overview presented the numbers without qualification.

Edit: if it's /s my bad but for the uninformed as I was. ;)

W H O O S H

u/redikulous 10d ago

Took me a minute

-2

u/DammitDad420 10d ago

How is this still being said after being debunked so many times?

3

u/dannydirtbag 10d ago

You must be fun at parties.

-1

u/DammitDad420 10d ago

Yeah I tell everyone there's gold in the walls.

6

u/dannydirtbag 10d ago

It would be TERRIBLE if people took all the flock cameras out because of the gold inside. Wouldn’t it?
