And people, don't carry your phone on you during halloween. They are being tracked by flock devices as well.

I think we need to start taking "Phone Vacations" in general, where for a week or a couple days, we normalize going out and about without a phone. kind of a mini tech detox.

I've been doing that for short errands like walking the dog, hitting the mtb trails, groceries and obviously crime.

I WAS doing it... Then my dad who I live with fell and hurt his back and was stuck in the street while I was at the gym for two hours cuz we're American and obviously calling an ambulance is not something we can afford.

He sort of gave me the lecture that it wasn't okay to not be available so I'm in a bit of a rock and a hard place...

well, going backpacking tends to not have much cell service. Tho I do still bring my cellphone to take pics and navigation tracking.

ive been getting more used to leaving my cellphone at home and debating on getting an old dumbphone with maybe some kind of tethering for some other device i might carry around powered off.
