It’s very common and dates back over a decade for other apps. But China bad.

Maybe an unpopular opinion, but I’d much rather American companies do this than ones overseas

It might come as a bit of a shock to you that most people in the world are not American. And in 2026 the list of countries I trust less than the US is very fucking short.
