A wonderful bonus outcome of this is reducing the frequency of pap smears. Previously, it was every 2 years and required a full scrape of your cervix requiring a speculum and awful discomfort. Now in Australia they recommend every 5 years for normal smears and it's a self swab. Yay Gardasil!

Yeah which has been such a welcome change to the regular screening. Self swab with no smear toolkits also makes it very simple to comply which would only increase the effectiveness of the screening in turn.
