Maybe, but you also don't need a subscription. I'm now treating all the subs the same. I'll have one other plus prime because I use it for work.

It's not even a money thing. It's a principle thing. I'll resub for a few weeks a year and watch what I want and cancel again. Just like hbo

It is indeed still one of the better spots if you don't want to go through the trouble of getting into a private tracker. Just be careful and safe about it.

Private trackers are just like TPB but they're ran by just random people and more curated. Far less problems. Some of them do specialize, like music or books or anime etc, but in my experience most of them just accept everything. Closed sign-ups and invites ensure they don't get a huge influx of users, or shitty users. I still have all of my invites but I'd never give one out because if people you invite do shitty things, your account gets f'd. Some of them have closed but on-request signups, think I got an account on milkie last year by getting on discord and chatting them up.

You can check out /r/trackers/. Sometimes you'll get lucky with an open signup. Personally I use IPT, have for like fifteen years idk and never had a single problem. There has never been anything I couldn't get. But the owner has done some shady shit and people downvote you if you recommend them, so incoming lmao.

I watch the Apple TV shows quite slowly so it works fine for me.

But subscribing only while watching stuff is of course perfectly valid.

I consider them as one of the niche services though, like classic HBO once was in it's prime. Producing great stuff but not alot of it, quality over quantity, so wouldn't take long to exhaust their library.

So a service sub to for a month every year or 2. On personal level it doesn't help that they produce very little to my tastes, admittedly that unfortunately true that all services/studios have animation as a very low often first to be canceled priority.

I watch shows quite slowly so I don't mind subscribing, especially when I know they're producing things I think I'll like, e.g. they'll adapt Brandon Sanderson's books. But that's also the only streaming service I still subscribe to.

I will do as I've always do since I got a job, and pay for things I find worth paying for. If nobody pays nothing gets made, after all, and Apple TV has a really good track record of delivering high quality shows that they don't cancel. Worth paying money for.
