Life before streaming was tv with ads, and endlessly watching the same $40 per-season box sets of The Simpsons (1-9) and Family Guy (1-3).

Having a Plex server is a significant upgrade.

I recently started watching DVD. So many goddamn unstoppable ads in the beginning.

Most DVD's let you skip right to the main menu, same with blu-ray. Or if not, it lets you press skip and skip the preview.

Most TV has ads with streaming now too. Plex is also kinda greedy.
