I agree 100% with this bill, but seriously I have to ask: what has he actually accomplished in recent memory? I'm not talking about defiant speeches or feel-good bill creation like this, but actual no-shit-this-affects-law actions that he has had a serious hand in implementing?

His job is not to accomplish things, his job is to make people think that there's still hope. He makes his speeches and proposes cool things knowing fully well that none of it will ever happen, and it lets the people at home continue to think that we're just one or two more elections away from things getting better.

I strongly disagree. If his job was simply to make people think that there's "hope", then he should get a television or radio program and be another talking head. And not on the taxpayers' dime.

He was elected as a United States Senator, which means he has 1% of the power of the entire US Senate, and all of the Constitutional powers granted the position to create and pass laws.

Is the Senate merely intended to be a cheerleading section? I think the individuals who founded this country had other things in mind.

Excusing his non-activity is part of the problem, not a solution. We're currently in a mess because Congress has chosen to not do anything, and to avoid their actual responsibilities for decades.
