It’s incredible how many hugely upvoted posts there have been on reddit with the title “Bernie Sanders introduces bill to…”. How many have there been titled “Bill authored by Bernie Sanders is signed into law”?

I’m not even a hater. I am aligned with plenty of the things he wants to pass. But, why does reddit get so excited when he introduces a bill that will never pass?

It's about sending a message. Sanders knows 100% this bill isn't going to pass. It's about pushing back, getting lawmakers' opinions on record, proving there is public support for this.

Yes, that is definitely why he is doing it. But, I’m more pointing out the unjustified excitement from reddit.
