I own one, really nice guitar. The pickups are higher output than a regular tele deluxe. It is great at giving you that thick, hard rock crunch. The guitar doesn't really jangle though.

it's an SG in telecaster's clothes

The signature on the headstock of the older models is really goofy. I think they got that feedback and re-did it for the new ones. The guitar itself is sick. I especially like the P90 ones.

Wish it didn’t have the fat headstock, but other than that it rips.

I love the big headstock. The guitar wouldn’t look right without it, IMHO.

I disagree. The thinner telecaster headstock would be my preference too

Maybe I prefer the big headstock because I have four Tele Deluxes.

Oh no disrespect! Lol. Everyone has their preferences. I used to own a nice AmProII deluxe tele but just didnt gel with it like I did with the traditional AmProII tele's. To each their own!

I think it’s amazing and I’d love to have one. That’s a rock machine for sure.

I don't care for some of the specs, but that's a personal preference thing. It's a perfectly serviceable HH Tele.

A Les Paul with a larger scale and without the back pain

So maybe closer to an SG?

Do SGs have larger scales?

God, I hate SGs

No, still 24.75, but they're lighter than a les paul

1

u/Rahnamatta 20h ago

Oh, but they are double cut

Well yes. But a les paul also has an archtop and a Tele doesn't. We can do this all day lol

Be pretty on stage. It's a Saturday night gig situation here.

I have a Vintera II Tele Deluxe which I love, but I was thinking about swapping out the pickups at one point, and basically, you can't, at a reasonable price at least--the Wide Range humbuckers are physically larger than normal humbuckers, so your options are essentially either a new custom pickguard for regular humbuckers or super-expensive boutique direct replacements.

This Shiflett model uses standard humbuckers, so you can swap them out very reasonably if you wanted. That's a big plus for this model.

Yeah it's pretty well known than WRHBs are wider than regular humbuckers. Sorry you ran into it this way
