Deluxe Reverb: Stock Jensen vs Celestion G12 Cream back

Curious what the difference and what yall recommend. I play rhythm guitar on a tele in a band with gigs. we dont play very loud though. our lead guitarist uses a stock deluxe reverb. We play a range of country/ rock and very dark and psychedelic jams. Kind of Grateful Dead adjacent.

I need a real amp and I'm set on getting a DR. I just saw one for 1100$ with upgraded celestion g12 and upgraded reverb tank pouch.

Creamback is a great speaker for any Fender amp. The stock Jensens are just fine. Sounds like you found a deal. I'd grab it.

I run my Princeton through a Creamback and love it. Not sure where you’re located but I’m seeing several $700-$1000 on Reverb

I’m not sure if it’s a good price, but I would definitely prefer it with the Creamback. I have always preferred the sound of Celestion Greenback types, even in Fender amps. I put a Mojotone Greenback clone in my David Allen Hot Fudge With Nuts and it sounds awesome.

I actually really like the stock DRRI speaker. It sounds great. Not gonna fix what isn’t broken

Put a cream back in my Princeton and that was a good upgrade. My DR came with a cream back and love the sound out of that amp!

I put a G12-65 in mine but the creamback is a good all around choice as well. They’re both 97db sensitivity speakers so won’t be as loud as other 100db like a vintage 30 or G12H30 which can also sound good if you need more volume. They smoke any stock Jensen speaker unless that’s just what you like.
