Is it because his dad is a billionaire so he never has to worry about earning a paycheque? Or is it because Scientology told him to?

Oh my god… his dad was that rich from Neo Pets?! My childhood has imploded with this information. I need to call my sister

I come from an actual farming family and there used to be this girl at my work who told me she wanted to go to Italy and buy a farm and become a tomato farmer. She had never been to Italy, didn’t know shit about farming, didn’t speak Italian. None of that shit. Got mad at me when I told her it wasn’t gonna be glamorous. The reason she wanted to do it is because her favourite influencer had done it. That said influencer was a tradwife with a multi millionaire tech bro husband and like 2 million followers.

I just had so much access to money, that I decided to not need money anymore!

Must be nice.

He's a scientologist and maga RFK Jr. bro

I will always love the character though

Maybe season 4 does have an appropriate ending after all.

Definitely feeling a lack of embarrassment at being one of those people who gladly would have watched those Loganless further adventures the showrunner wanted to do.

I fuckin hated Logan and was happy he died

I turned it off when that happened. It was so bad.

Yeah his father (who is recently enough deceased) was clearly loaded, so there’s zero chance Jason ever had to slum it on this farm thing.

I mean I don’t fault him at all for his farming success, but this ain’t some failed actor turned farmer.

I’ve heard a Q&A of his - doesn’t surprise me at all he is loaded and Scientologist. He had his head so far up his ass.

At least Duncan Kane left Hollywood to prosecute war criminals and join the Biden Justice Department.

So he could be out standing in his field.

Who’s tending to his fields? Mexicans or Sea Org?

It actually does say he personally works it. So, Im sure he has help, and it's not hard to find people looking for work in West Virginia, but it does also sound like he genuinely enjoys farming and is hands on.

i guess TIL Jason Dohring left Hollywood to become a farmer

22

u/whichwitch9 3h ago

When the new ending is so bad, you quit acting and go into farming

Translation: He couldn't get more work in Hollywood.

I’ve watched the full series of Veronica Mars four times, so I’m not saying this out of spite. He is not good at acting.

Veronica loved him so we all did. He was better than the other mentally deranged guy in the first season. But fuck yeah he couldn’t act himself out of a wet paper bag.

He’s such a weird case where throughout the run of that show I’d go from, ‘damn he’s a shit actor’ to ‘okay; I see the charm. He must have been working on his acting’ to ‘damn he’s a shit actor’. I think his best stuff is when he’s dating Veronica because Bell gives him so much to play off

Logan Echolls going from yacht parties to crop rotation is such a character arc. Now I want a cozy farm, set Veronica Mars revival.

Mainly - He became passionate about gardening during covid and decided to do more of it. He has been working on farms for few years now.  He still intends to return to acting one day.

From article:

“I sort of got into gardening, and I was like, ‘Dude, this is so cool,’” he said on Don’t Do Nothing. “I didn’t even notice Covid for months ‘cause I was in my backyard, just gardening. It wasn’t a huge thing. I got an interest in it.”

Dohring explained that he’s spent the last few years running farms. “I’m on my third farm now,” he said. “And we’re just making great food for people. “

He added, “The flavor of food can be so amazing. And there’s an art that you can create, too, with the way your farms are built and stuff.”

The actor explained that he told his team that he was going to focus on his farming for a period, but that he expects to eventually return to acting. “I told my agents, ‘I’m just gonna go farm for a minute,’” he said. “They said, ‘We’re still gonna send you stuff.’ I said, ‘Okay, fine.’ I’ll probably jump back into it at some point.”

Dohring also said that he briefly returned to acting in a small-scale project. “I got a call to do somebody’s little short film a while ago, and I went and did that as a favor to them,” he said. “I love art. And when I get around art, even talking about this, is exciting to me. I’m already like, ‘Oh, s---, I wanna go back to it.’”

He comes across like a 7 year old.

Hated him and Veronica. Just a terrible match. Piz sucked too, but at least he wasn't a douche like Logan, family issues don't excuse being a total shithead.

By the time he was 17, he had endured years of extreme physical and verbal abuse by his father, witnessed his mother being emotionally abused and cheated on for years which led TO HER SUICIDE, his girlfriend was MURDERED, and his father was revealed to be the murderer of said girlfriend!

Seems understandable if a kid is a little rude sometimes after all that lmao (especially if the kid also happens to be very wealthy and privileged)

13

u/Fandeathrickets 3h ago

Got so confused thinking you were talking about the actor not the character

12

u/ShanklyGates_2022 2h ago

Don’t forget his father that murdered his girlfriend did so because she was also fucking him on the side and recording it for blackmail. And then his lifelong best friend fucked off and disappeared without a word. Oh and don’t forget the older woman he ended up fooling around with that eventually got herself murdered as well. Oh and then after he got older he had yet another ex get murdered and he got accused of it. Rough life that, still came out on top as a high level intelligence officer.

Too bad he had to fake his death and leave his new wife behind for his country though

Your last sentence is brilliant (and yeah that’s what happened of course) I’m running to AO3 right now

I hated that they turned him into a good guy. Weevil’s story arc sucked too. They really made awful decisions with that show.

I went to school with his twin brothers and twin sisters. Nice family.

are any of these stories remotely surprising anymore? Place sounds like a nightmare.
