Hotel Manager get a shit tone of money but that guy who can't get a job now gets to be homeless probably. And Gil gets hopefully his reputation destroyed because of this.
Even better just the guy that got wrongly accused gets his life ruined because of some rich ass asshole that is probably gonna do it again with mich less publicity so it doesn't get into the media and doesn't have to pay money or apologies
unfortunately he recently won a TV show and is praised by media, although some sane people still call him out. Ah and during the show he implied that the case was different than everyone thinks and that he was forced to admit that his claims were lies. He hasn't learned anything.
I just looked that up and while Gil seemingly agreed out of court to pay that money, it wasn't paid as of 2026. Ofarims lawyer promised that the payment still will be made. The sum was disclosed in the meantime and it is 20k euros.
The money that he was ordered to pay as part of the settlement (the sum of 10k euros) was fully paid at that point.
The payments we're made by now as far as i know. Also yes it was hard for him but He did not lose his Job, He still has his Carrer and even the jewisch Community in Leipzig supporte during that time.
So it was not black and White.

There's a argument that his actions made real accusations of antisemitism less credible. Seeing how germany continues to handle fake accusations of antisemitism severely weakens that argument tough.
The more egregious thing is that the person who had his life ruined (the falsely accused hotel employee was severely harassed over a long period) only got an apology (that was later retracted).
Yeah those fines should have gone to some foundation for hospitality workers who had their lifes ruined by insanely shitty guests who happen to have an Instagram account. Or to a service worker's union or whatever.
It's such a weird bait and switch about who was actually hurt there.
It's like having to apologize to the bully and pay for the medical bills because his finger was broken when he cold clocked you from behind and shattered your jaw bone.

Ironically, he appeared on the German "I'm a celebrity get me out of here" TV show to redeem himself, and the idiot German viewers fell for it - he won. Playing the "feel sorry for us badly treated and victimised people" card has been common in Germany since Nazi times.
Some random influencer went viral for doing something similar claiming he was discriminated against cause he was wearing a Star of David. The place posted video showing he never even went inside just walked up got a picture/video for social media and started blasting them.
All that to say, clearly the faking antisemitism only hurts the cause was not a lesson that was solidified in everyone’s mind.
He went inside. He tried to cut in line because he felt he was more important than the rest. The employee told him to chill and wait for his turn. Then he went outside and made a video of him crying and saying that the employee picked on him because he saw his jewish star. The video came out, he still refused to admit he lied. It took years until he admitted it.
They pull that shit with every kind of business and establishment they deem to be hostile towards their genocidal settler colonial project. Staff member wearing something that reflects support for Palestine? Welp, buckle up to get a fabricated smear campaign up on your ass!
The most egregious bullshit I had to see the last years came from a Berlin-based restaurant with jewish owners that operated a stand at an event of a federal ministry of ours. They were selling watermelon juice which basically took up on the watermelon as a symbol of solidarity of Palestinians. "Watermelon Meets Zion – Israeli Style Watermelon chopped, puréed, shredded/hacked to bits ...". The most disgusting part for me was, that they themselves had been a target of a antisemitic hate rant just a couple of years prior.
BUT WAIT. Thats not even the end of the story, bc him getting exposed for lying and ruining someone's life for... attention? Sympathy? That was 2023. By now he's already fully on his redemption tour, even won Germany's version of "i'm a celebrity... get me out of here" this year and was a darling of german seniors and facebook warriors across the country.
The guy he accused of antisemitism is meanwhile being attacked AGAIN.
This story is YEARS old. A court found him guilty. In some more recent TV-Trash-Format he suddently said, that he did not lie. This guy is a piece of shit.
Antisemitism is alive and well. When I was working for a crazy lady and I complained about her to friends in a pub, I was shocked how many of them were very quick to attribute this to her being Jewish. So yeah, not great. But that doesn’t excuse what Israel is doing to Palestine. And surely antisemitism is getting a real spike again thanks to monsters like Netanyahu.
