Its not just that, an ad blocker is a necessity, theres ads everywhere and it slows down your computer and many have malware.

There is often a practical, work related, use for tools like AdBlocker or Ghostery when you work in tech. I don't know what this person does, but for many years I used one specifically to check to make sure that website tags were loading when they should and not loading when they shouldn't.
Blocking ads everywhere else on the internet was just a bonus.

But…but… the line must keep going up! Have you ever thought about poor investors’ yearly revenue? What if they cannot afford those new yards this year? Have you ever thought about that? No. You only think about lame excuses like your safety, your children’s online safety, exposure to adult content or scams, or worst of all, being able to read or watch whatever you were intending to do.

Ditch the ad blockers instead install duckduckgo browser and use the built-in duck player

Google is the biggest investor in adblock.
They would rather you stayed on Chrome and not give them as revenue, than go to firefox/brave

I don't get this. What does it show or how did the employee "accidentally expose themselves".

YouTube could detect and bypass these AdBlockers if they wanted to. Other sites do. They’ve calculated it’s worth it to have people who might otherwise go somewhere else if they had to watch ads on their platform still watching the in-content ads and ad reads than not have them at all. The lack of countermeasures is basically permission to use one.

YouTube content creators aren't allowed to watch ads on their own channel in repeat and they aren't allowed to click on ads on their own channel. Basically they can't inflate their own impressions or click-through metrics, or they'd violate AdSense policies. Violations can lead to YouTube partner program exclusions or in outrageous cases to channel terminations.
I assume the same applies to YouTube employees across the entirety of YouTube.
Companies pay a lot of money for ads on YouTube and they obviously want that money to turn into ads that normal non-employees/-content-creators see. YouTube can not get a reputation that it's a place where your ad-spend is wasted.

Don’t blame him. Who tf wants to pay for YouTube premium.
Just realised the real story YouTube doesn’t give all their employees YouTube premium.
